The restaurant and especially the restaurant manager who is unhelpful and extremely rude! Our table was situated in a very drafty place by two large doors I asked to be moved back further into the room. The answer was an emphatic 'NO'. The restaurant manager argued that all the tables were booked - interesting as by the end of the evening there were at least 4 vacant tables. Eventually after a lengthy discussion we were able to move. Their big fear in this restaurant is that you are trying to get a table near the window. Actually 'no' this was not my reason for asking to change tables, I would just like to be comfortable while eating my meal and not be sat in a cold spot in the restaurant! We do not usually complain but on this occasion due to the restaurant managers attitude I spoke with the Hotel manager on the Sunday morning before we left. He confirmed that they have many guests trying to get a window seat. Its ludicrous that my wife and I were made to feel uncomfortable because they are so precious about protecting their dinner tables by the window. The evening was saved by two of the staff waiting on us - a young man who had worked in Scotland and a young female waitress. They were a breath of fresh air so friendly and helpful in what we both felt was otherwise a very unfriendly and stuffy atmosphere in this restaurant. We have eaten in many Michelin restaurants all over Europe, this one is probably the worst for us. Eating in beautiful restaurants should be a pleasure from start to finish it is not just about the food, it is they way you make your guests feel while they are spending their time in your restaurant. Do not judge all your patrons the same way. Be courteous enough to have a discussion and consider the request before you make your guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

This was our second stay at this hotel. The location is lovely and the views are great. We were staying in a junior suite which was big and spacious. We enjoyed the location and most of the facilities pool etc but had issues in the hotel restaurant which ruined our stay here and was extremely disappointing.

the hotel is located halfway up a very steep hill overlooking Lyon. this sounds nice but there are zero shops or restaurants without going down very steep steps (+100) down into the old town. the hotel restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday so you have no alternative than make the climb down and back up. room 15 is on the top floor. it's small and only has an in bath shower with difficult access. the bath taps were stuck so a shower was the only option

beautiful swimming pool area with sauna and heated beds with fabulous views over beautiful Lyon. Breakfast was excellent and served either inside or outside. the bed was very comfortable. all staff were very helpful and friendly.

the room was a duplex. living room and bathroom with toilet on one floor and bed upstairs. bathroom with toilet and bedroom should be on the same level. when we booked we did not realize this. we had the view but not the expected comfort.

It wasn’t very clean, it needed some TLC lots of chips and marks on walls & worn paint in the bathroom. They charged us 2 weeks prior to arriving, and then instead of using that money they charged us again for the night when we checked out. They said the money ‘deposit’ will come back straight away & it has not. So at the moment feels like we have paid double.

Views of the city, staff were friendly.

Location of our rooms. We were at the very end of the hotel, needed to take elevators and long walks before we arrived at the main hotel and the pool and place for breakfast. Even to leave the hotel we had to do this. The rooms were ok, but wish I would have known this upfront. Very hard to find plugs in the room to charge iPhone etc. And the breakfast service was terrible. And we were not the only ones complaining. No utensils, moody staff, took forever to get eggs etc and even after 30 minutes wait they got it wrong. So during breakfast we decided to leave after the first night. Def not Relais&Chateaux worthy.

We got a very nice welcome from the lady at the reception. She was by far the friendliest person at the hotel.

On our way back to Brussels from Villa La Coste and Lily of the Valley (both outstanding) , we booked at villa Florentine in Lyon. The setting was promising , but my god the interior was so old fashioned and as such overpriced. We payed 560 eur for a small room under the roof and furniture and decoration were outlived and pure 80 ‘ style, no usb connections, the wooden floor very damaged and the complete ‘feeling’ was quite in contrast with the mentioned 5 stars. We think the last real hotel investment dates from over 30 years ago except for the restaurant which is pretty. Sorry but this is no 5 star hotel (anymore).
