We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesA few amenities would have been helpful - blow dryer especially- since traveling with all that stuff is difficult. The shower head was fantastic but having to choose from scalding or ice cold water took away from any thought of a relaxing shower. The town of Dumfries itself does not have a lot to offer so we spent as little time there as possible.
Dumfries is in a beautiful area although the town itself is in a bit of a slump. Aberdour house was clean and in a good location with an accommodating host. As in keeping with it's setting, there were no amenities (except soap and towels) and the plumbing was "quirky".

United KingdomOnline states bar but it’s only opened when there is a function on I met up with family and brought them back to the guest house to sit in the lounge in fairness the landlady made us coffee
Choices of breakfast was good but myself and my hubby don’t eat much in the morning the room was a fair size for a family room but furniture needs updated and en-suite was a little small for a family wash hand basin had a big crack in it and light pull needs replacing accommodation is well located to train station and all amenities

The Aberdour is right in the centre of town but on a quiet road just minutes from the shopping area. Parking is available off street right at the door. Our hostess was very friendly and informative. The room was perfect and had everything we required including a nice view over the Dumfries bowling green. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day, all prepared buy our hostess and very polite and cheerful waitress. All this at a very reasonable price. 😃
