Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was in the basement however we had a huge room for 2 adults and 2 children. The double bed was small but we are used to a king. Quilt too small for the 2 of us. Room was super hot even with windows open which made it noisy. Decor in room needs refreshing but is perfectly acceptable for the price of a premium location
Location was great for us visiting museums and going to see a musical. Great underground links. Good value for money in the location. Lovely bathroom and clean. Staff were welcoming and polite. Luggage room to use before check in. Looks like they are renovating the hotel

The property was nice and clean had been renovated to a good enough standard. There are lots of stairs so if you are not very mobile then I would strongly consider booking elsewhere. The stairs were not an issue for us during the stay. Was quiet and the location was amazing. Breakfast is good considering that it’s included. However could keep the cheese and meat in a fridge as when we went down it looked like it had melted abit due to the hot weather. The room was clean and we had our own bathroom

United States1. No TV 2. Our bedroom was in the basement it was totally fine as there was a window and renovated. But couldn’t sleep over night as there was a pigeon couple made noises all through the night. (For two nights, ruined all my staying)
Staff was kind and friendly. The room size was bigger than typical London hotel triple bedroom size. Breakfast was good enough!

United KingdomI found the stairs up to the fourth floor quite steep and, for my room, my toilet and shower were at the other end of a shared corridor. I expected this for the price, and it didn't bother me as the other rooms weren't occupied, but was still a little odd.
The room was clean and comfortable, if simple, and the toilet and shower were good too. It was very well located in South Kensington and I felt like I was getting a good deal.

Lovely new bathroom, bit cramped but that’s nothing. It’s a bit tired looking but I’d definitely recommend and come back here again myself

BelgiumThere is a musty smell in the hallway leading to the basement room that would benefit from a HEPA air filter. Also the basement room got a lot of street noise, which isn't the hotel's fault but did wake us up a few times in the night.
Friendly employees, excellent location. We stayed in the quad room B1 (basement) and the room is huge, especially for London. Brand new, excellent shower.

SlovakiaNit-picking, but biscuits in the rooms with the tea/coffee?
This is a very smart hotel, recently upgraded from a hostel, and has to be one of the best-value places in South Ken if not in London. Staff were friendly and polite, the room was of a good size and equivalent to a boutique hotel for comfort. Breakfast was generous and included and there was a space in which to relax during the day with tea/coffee. Also luggage storage. Nothing was too much of a problem for these hosts, I wish them well on their break into the London accommodation scene. For convenience and comfort, I would stay here again for sure. You can pay much more for far worse in London.

CanadaUnfortunately, one of the shower was not working. Fortunately, the other one works, so it was not a big problem. At night, outside cars were pretty noisy until we sleep deeply when they went through in front of the hotel. If you are sensitive for the sounds, it is not easy to sleep well.
Location was really close to a station, South Kensington. And the hotel neighbourhood is kids school, so it was pretty safe area. The building is old, but it was tidy and clean. Some constructions are working? but we've never heard any sounds during our stay. The hotel receptionists and breakfast kitchen staffs were nice as well. Continental breakfast was available.
