Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThere is a musty smell in the hallway leading to the basement room that would benefit from a HEPA air filter. Also the basement room got a lot of street noise, which isn't the hotel's fault but did wake us up a few times in the night.
Friendly employees, excellent location. We stayed in the quad room B1 (basement) and the room is huge, especially for London. Brand new, excellent shower.

SlovakiaNit-picking, but biscuits in the rooms with the tea/coffee?
This is a very smart hotel, recently upgraded from a hostel, and has to be one of the best-value places in South Ken if not in London. Staff were friendly and polite, the room was of a good size and equivalent to a boutique hotel for comfort. Breakfast was generous and included and there was a space in which to relax during the day with tea/coffee. Also luggage storage. Nothing was too much of a problem for these hosts, I wish them well on their break into the London accommodation scene. For convenience and comfort, I would stay here again for sure. You can pay much more for far worse in London.

CanadaUnfortunately, one of the shower was not working. Fortunately, the other one works, so it was not a big problem. At night, outside cars were pretty noisy until we sleep deeply when they went through in front of the hotel. If you are sensitive for the sounds, it is not easy to sleep well.
Location was really close to a station, South Kensington. And the hotel neighbourhood is kids school, so it was pretty safe area. The building is old, but it was tidy and clean. Some constructions are working? but we've never heard any sounds during our stay. The hotel receptionists and breakfast kitchen staffs were nice as well. Continental breakfast was available.

United KingdomThe stairs were tough going (we were on the third floor without an elevator) but, honestly, what do you want for the money?!
Superb location, good facilities and just an overall great little hotel for the money. We were attending a show at the Royal Albert Hall and honestly couldn’t have asked for a more convenient or comfortable place to stay.

United KingdomOnly one glass and one tiny cup for tea provided, when there were 2 of us. Would've preferred a mug and one each, also some biscuits as no breakfast yet available 😉 Radiator pipes were banging in the night, cracked glass in window and vents had tape on them, hoping this is fixed on the current upgrades, but it wasn't winter so was OK temperature in the room and for the price and location it was OK by us.
Location was perfect for us, <10min walk to Albert Hall and <5min to lots of bars and pubs for food. Hotel is a work in progress upgrading from hostel to a hotel but we knew that on booking. So no surprises and a lovely door out to a balcony to let some much needed sunny spring air in (room 13 and we didn't care one bit). Kettle and tea/coffee and towels provided. Bed nice and clean and comfy, bathroom super clean and shower hot and fast. Looking forward to coming again and having breakfast there when works are complete. The building is lovely and the manager friendly and welcoming. We were 2 lone women on a birthday treat in London and it felt safe and cosy, thanks x

United KingdomToo many stairs to get to the room. Not good when you have children with you or any disabilities where climbing lots stairs is an issue No mattress topper No fitted bed sheet Duvet too small for the double bed when 2 people are sleeping in it. Only 2 beds for 3 people (luckily one was my young son so wasn't too much bother) No bin in room, only a bathroom bin Room too hot. The heating was on when we arrived and we had to turn it off, then it came on automatically in the morning again. Luckily fans were provided. No breakfast offered (was stated in description so we knew this beforehand however for future guests a breakfast might be a bonus)
Great location Good sized family room Comfortable bed Tea/coffee facilities Cheaply priced for the area Free toiletries/towels to use (didn't use but nice touch) Good selection of channels on TV

LithuaniaThere is building work currently going on so there were some paint fumes but the guy on the desk apologised. The window was open in the room, which helped as the smell was quite potent. There was a balcony and opening which people shouldn't use, but I guess people could step out and walk along to different rooms as it went along the length of the property; this was slightly unnerving. The bathroom bin hadn't been emptied, which wasn't so pleasant as it was 3/4 full of someone else's plasters and other yukky stuff. Not good. :( There was just one tea bag. I could have used two. I was too lazy to ask, but I am sure that the friendly reception guy would have helped if necessary. I didn't report it as no one asked me about how my stay was. The most annoying thing was someone playing video games or watching something rather loudly until around 1 am. I was still awake but it would have got on my nerves if I'd wanted to sleep. I think the sound was coming from above; I was in room 12. I also didn't like Arthur Conan Doyle staring creepily out from the window next door! ;)
The location was perfect for visiting the museums and for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall; it took around 15 mins to walk. I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Big TV. Kettle. Large shower cubicle in the newly renovated bathroom with generic toiletries. Wifi code on the noticeboard in the corridor. At first, I thought the room was a bit dark and dingy, but with the bedside lights, it wasn't. I would stay here again for location and value for money. Nice coffee place/bakery round the corner (Urban Baristas). More than I would usually pay, but the Eggs Benedict was nice, and I think good for London prices.
