How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Was just a bit of a walk from the b&b into the centre of portrush but other than that everything was great.
The room was beautiful nice clean bedding very spacious.

Room was somewhat on the small side with no hanging space.
Easy to find and parking available. Breakfast was lovely and lots of choice for Continental with the option to have cooked if required.

That I could not stay a bit longer
I was welcomed at the door by the owner and given a quick tour and introduction. Everything looked great, and the facilities were exactly as described. The first impressions were great. I had an excellent night's sleep in a lovely room, very peaceful, despite being near a fairly busy road. Breakfast was, again, exactly as described. The owner asked me about my needs for breakfast when I arrived and provided for them in the morning. Around the back was a decent sized carparking area. Great value for money. Location is only a short, easy walk from one of Portrush's beaches. And about 1/2 a mile from the railway station.

Would prefer to have a more updated TV to maybe connect to or get extra services through smart devices however this is not a necessity!
We loved the decor of the house and rooms, gorgeous colour schemes and a great spacious room! Brilliant facilities were available and the shower was very good too! Excellent cleanliness and warm also. A huge bonus being pet friendly!

Everything from the moment we arrived all throughout our stay. The house was tastfully decorated, we were close to amenities and going to and from the property was so central to what we were doing, slept like a log.

Toilets and showers were shared. We probably never noticed in booking.com while booking. We could have checked properly. Some other rooms were en suite.
Very good location with all amenities nearby. Pleasant and comforting host. Parking with no hassle at the back of the property. Easy to locate and check in.

This was the second time we stayed, first time we stayed in the small double which was very nice and cosy, decorated lovely and clean but just a little too cosy with our golden retriever. This time we chose the deluxe double which was absolutely perfect. Clean, decorated lovely, but bigger space which was great for our dog too. Great location, right beside a beach and a short walk into the centre. The breakfast is also lovely, both times we have just had the continental which is included in the price as we’ve found it more than enough. We are looking forward to our next stay already

Nothing, we had a great stay and would stay here again.
Lovely guest house with friendly hosts and delicious breakfast. Dog friendly too which was a bonus! Our room was spacious with an en suite bathroom. There was also a common room downstairs and outdoor seating area.

everything fine although room wasn't en suite bathroom.
Lovely spacious accommodation, clean and tidy. Continental breakfast included with cooked breakfast also available for extra charge! Would definitely use again! 10 minutes walk to town centre.

There was a bit not enough ventilation in the room and a big wooden decoration looked not very sturdy.
