Not clear you had to make dinner reservations before you arrived. At first said for second night restaurant full to my daughter ,but then when we asked again said last table 1915 which was fine but would have been upset if none available as did not want to drive anywhere after long day out and nowhere near .

The room was quite dusty, maybe not been used in a while but it was not a situation at all that was worth me not ever staying again. I felt so happy and relaxed and staff are great, only little downfall

Service in the restaurant was very poor. Not just very very slow, but confused with dishes going out to wrong tables and courses landing out of sync. Huge shame as the food is lovely. Breakfast was the same - potentially lovely food but all cold as service let it down . Plates were not cleared or tea sorted etc

Weird floor covering in bathroom which felt unhygienic (non sealed surface that couldn’t have been properly washed with water) Much dust at edges of room….. again peculiar choice of floor covering. Very forthright attitude when I said the other guest would be arriving later “ We’ll who is paying as it needs to be paid now” Then we were asked on leaving by same member of staff to pay for the breakfast which had been included in our room rate.

Continental breakfast was great. Bed very comfortable. Complimentary drinks very good. Shower powerful and lots of hot water. Majority of staff very friendly and helpful. Overall good.

Shower water was too hot and not able to be cooled which made a shower very uncomfortable though a previous room was ok, I suspect a broken shower mixer in this case

Room was a bit hot but better when we discovered an electric fan Dinner was tasty but very slow drinks service (had to chase) and very expensive relative to what we paid for the room (£150 for two of us which was only three drinks and two courses). We were seated in the Orangery the night we were there and although a nice space it wasn’t special enough (no table cloths/tables very close together etc) for the cost

My original room was very small without chair or anything to sit on in the evening, very basic but when I mentioned it at reception it was changed straight away.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely decor and quality teas, coffees and toiletries in the room. Comfy bed and peaceful location. There was a wedding on and I didn’t hear any noise from the celebrations and I went to bed early!!

We had a meal in the hotel on a Sunday evening. From ordering to being served was almost two hours. The food was very good but the wait was very disappointing.

The breakfast was excellent with a good choice.

On Booking.com the room was advertised as having a double bed and sofa bed but this was not the case so one of us had to sleep on the floor. The room was incredibly hot with poor ventilation and very noisy as many guests walked past our room talking loudly after we had gone to bed

Dinner was outstaning. WE both have dietary needs and the chef and waiter were excellent in adapting to our needs and the food was incredible.

There were 14 in our party, we had booked for dinner Friday evening - even though we booked months ago, we were sitting on 3 tables. We were originally asked to make our choices while we were having drinks but then the waiter took our orders at individual tables ; the food arrived at different times. Food was ok, but some people commented their puddings were hard. Breakfast - what we had wasn't quite what the menu said, for example Boiled eggs and Marmite soldiers was ordered but it was just boiled eggs ( the waitress seemed surprised when we requested the marmite soldiers ). Vegetarian / vegan choices very limited but oat milk was available.

Peaceful hotel around an attractive courtyard. Very comfortable bed and a nice bedroom.
