The converted stables are amazing, so cozy and set on a farm with horses in their stables directly opposite. The pre ordered cooked breakfast was a really lovely touch.

No pen to complete the breakfast menu!!

We were going to a wedding nearby and only used the cottage as a base to get changed, sleep and take advantage of the breakfast! Lovely cottage with plenty of space and a tasty breakfast. Thank you!

The place could've been bit more tidier, spiders and cobwebs were spotted. Stale milk and tea bags but luckily we were carrying condensed milk and tea bags

Breakfast was really good and it was locally sourced, great location, property and facilities like tennis court and stables were a plus. Very calm and quite if you're looking for tranquillity.

Nice, slightly off the beaten path stay

The furniture in the sitting room was worn but serviceable. The floors were squeaky as might be expected in a farmhouse. We had wondered if this would wake us if someone got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, but we all slept so soundly that no one woke up to test this!

We arrived late in the dark, and everything was readily available to us. The property manager/owner was very responsive. More than the four of us (myself, my husband and our two tween sons) could have easily fit in the space. The master bed was large and very comfortable with good bedding - an unexpected highlight. The unit was very spacious with a large dining table. I was also pleased that there were numerous knives, all of which were reasonably sharp (this was not the case at a number of other places we stayed). There was a helpful little booklet highlighting some worthwhile nearby sights. The simple breakfast was delivered right to our dining room table despite us missing the cutoff to put out our breakfast request as we arrived late, and was hot and delicious. The best scrambled eggs I had all trip! There was also a vegetarian/vegan option. The boys loved being able to see the horses in their stable. The property was very scenic and the sunrise was gorgeous over the fields. We had hoped for a more natural farmhouse-style stay, and this is exactly what we enjoyed. We wished we had more time to enjoy the setting. 8.5/10

The farmer was amazing. He was the only one I saw on our stay but welcomed us , attended to the horses and delivered us an amazing breakfast .

Only to be very picky could have done with a bath mat for coming out of the shower and paper towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen to save using the dishwasher for a small load.

Breakfast was delicious and exactly what we asked for, delivered promptly and with a smile. Cottage was nice and warm, backed up with a wood burner.

as students we didnt have a car and the location was a bit hard to access. we booked chippenham cabs to get to and from the cottage but had a bit of trouble with checking out on time bc no availability of cabs for a while. so location may be iffy for students or people without cars but if u know how to get around with cabs and book them in advance, i think it's still worth the extra time as it is a perfect location for a relaxing holiday away from everything else.

great, filling breakfast, loved having the self-catering option, owner helped us lit fire which kept property very warm and cosy. nice view of stable. everything was clean and loved the interior especially the pics of animals on the walls. perfect for a day away from the city.

No complaints. If the photos and description of the cottage of the bookings.com website had been a little better done, I would have realised I was getting a lot more for my money than I was expecting!

Fully equipped cottage with large living room/kitchen combination. Was not expecting breakfast to be provided so that was a nice bonus. Looks out on stables so heaven for horse lovers.

The only thing is that the double bed could be bigger as there is plenty of room to rearrange the space . I personally find it easier to sleep with a bit of space

Lovely location overlooking the stables , staff are accommodating. The breakfast is brought to you in the morning.

    Everything exceeded our expectations.

What an absolute gem... This has to be one of the best cottages in the Cotswolds. From the moment of booking, until we said goodbye, the whole experience was seamless. Jessica was the perfect host, making this stay memorable for all the right reasons. The location is idyllic, the property spotless, and the breakfast exquisite. Do not consider staying elsewhere, just book Battens Farm immediately. Many thanks Jessica, we will be seeing you soon!
