Minor niggle - the spa was some distance from main building so that was a little off-putting.

Wonderful view of Snowdonia from our room, peaceful and beautiful gardens. Relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff and guests who were also appreciative of the historic location. The weather was bright and sunny so that made a genuine difference to our appreciation of the local area,

the staff were oddly uninformed about the neighbourhood - they could tell me nothing about the river cruises from Conwy (tho. actually these were not running until the day after we left), & they were out of maps of the grounds tho. the website mentions 2 walking routes through their woods [they did print off a very basic plan from their website, but they certainly should have a better one] unless you have a car, it can only really be reached by taxi - it looked as if there might be a nice walk down to Llandudno Junction/Conwy, but the staff thought one would in fact be walking mostly through housing estates obviously it was expensive (& at that price breakfast shd. ? be included), and one could not take a bar meal but had to dine (very well). I have no familiarity with such high grade hotels, but this was far more expensive than the accommodation attached to Hever House, where we stayed earlier this year. We did, though, naturally know the cost in advance, but still came for the situation/gardens

our room had an absolutely superb view down across the gardens & over Conwy castle to the Snowdonia mountains the gardens were well cared for & quite lovely, with many good places to sit the core of the property is 16th/17th century, with 3 fine period sitting rooms as one might expect at the price, the food & wine were very good

Spa was perfectly functional but definitely needs an update - looks like nothing had really changed in 30 years. Whilst generally a very lovely place, feel like it’s living off previous glories and the expensive room price is not justified.

Location was amazing. Gardens and local walks were lovely. We had a beautiful view from our room which was cosy and comfortable (if not a little old-fashioned/outdated) - bed was very comfortable. Spa staff were lovely and very helpful.

Dinner was overseasoned (very salty duck) and I didn't like to say so they would very likely have changed it as they are very accommodating. Atmosphere very very quiet, but this may be preferred by most guests. No Wifi in public spaces, just room.

Really beautiful spaces, rooms and gardens! Staff are very friendly and plenty of parking. I stayed in the snowdonia view room and the view was so stunning! A wonderful place to stay.

The wifi was poor and kept dropping out causing issues while working. The TV size was very small and poor / outdated for using with media or wireless devices considering the room size. Several spiders and cob webs removed by us at night.

Breakfast was good and nice choice available

The fact that we expected the cottage to be on one level. I think the booking information is a bit miss leading on this point.

Minor points, but when everything around you is excellent some small details emerge. The double bed wasn’t a double but 2 singles pushed together. My room in a spa cottage was fine for me, but would have been difficult for someone who didn’t fancy walking uphill to breakfast.

What an excellent hotel in a superb location. The house and grounds were both above and beyond. The meals were great. The room was comfortable and relaxing.

Very little.. it was pretty perfect.

We had a cottage in the ground of hotel.. very comfy and warm. It was great to be able to have space to relax. Also the cottage had super comfortable bed and loads of facilities. The hotel itself was welcoming with great views, roaring fires and good food. The spa was great.. we used the pool, gym and massage.
