Our room was not serviced and we were told that this is normal practice since Covid but was resolved by the Manager

The food and the view from the restaurant . The understanding and help from the manager. We liked his "hands on " style too.

Just let down by two relatively minor issues, all in all a very comfortable eight night stay.

Very poor wi-fi strength ( signal kept dropping out VERY annoying ) in are Room/ Area of hotel. Please get it sorted owners of Portland Heights Hotel. One small and might be looked on by some as unimportant but there were never enough milk pots / tubes with the tea/coffee making facilities, although if you popped down the reception they always supplied more willingly.

Fantastic view over Chesil beach and Portland Harbour. Excellent choice for breakfast to suit all dietary requirements from a Traditional British Fry up to veggie / vegan. Booked a Superior size room which was a good size with King Bed, Bathroom with Large Bath with shower.

Room quite small, corridors need some updating, feels very dark.

Excellent position up on the top of Portland. Reception area is lovely as is the restaurant, which has fantastic views. Food was great, loads of choice for breakfast and some gluten free for me too!

The bathroom smelled of cats pee. I brought this to the attention of the Duty Manager but he could not detect the smell. However he did offer a room replacement, which I declined at the time. He requested the cleaners to clean the bathroom and the bathroom smelt very good. Sadly the cat pee smell slowly returned during the day. I can only think that either the bathroom floor was reacting negatively to the cleaning solution or possibly an issue with the drains. It is fair to say that the smell reduced over my 3 day visit but clearly there is an issue with this room that needs a more detailed investigation. I have stayed at his hotel quite often with no issues with smells in the bathroom (though not in this particular room).

Helpful staff. Plenty of food selection at breakfast.

The toilet paper was very thin, could do with extra lighting around the bathroom mirror and a magnified mirror too. Sockets by the bed for the phones (we were in room 215).

The location was great, the room was well decorated. Great mini lights in the bathroom.

The lady on Reception was very unhelpful. She greeted us in a very unwelcome manner and tutted to our enquiry about a travel cot. She slammed down her pen huffed and puffed and stated the ones they had would be old and she didn't know where they'd likely be located. We regularly stay in hotels and its been a long time since we've had such a bad first impression!!!

Wow, what an incredible location!! The view was absolutely stunning..... one you'd travel the world to find ✨️

The beds were a bit uncomfortable, & we were very disappointed with the self service breakfast. The toaster took ages to toast, the scrambled eggs were inedible, tinned mushrooms !! the sausages had gristle in them, very small croissants, not a very good variety of fruit, just defrosted frozen fruit & grapefruit. Nice selection of cereal & juice. The evening meals were rather expensive. £25 for hunters chicken !!

There was plenty of parking, great location, friendly staff, spacious rooms & very clean. We had afternoon tea which was lovely. The staff were very friendly & changed some of the sandwiches we didn't like for us, plenty of choice of cakes !! the views from the Bistro were amazing.

Great location, breakfast was lovely and great views. Staff all friendly. Reception area lovely and bright. Rooms are a good size. Lovely size bed. Coffee , tea and biscuits provided in room and in bathroom you had hair and body wash and and soap.

The place looks run down and needs renovating. The cheapest room I got is ok but for the price of £128 for a night I expected more. The breakfast was ok. Could've been better if they did not use oven for the eggs. Bacon was chewy too.

Location is great, the view is very nice. Staff are lovely and very helpful. The place is clean, my room is not too big but comfy. I like the big sized bed.
