I wasn’t told until it was too late to cancel that the bar and restaurant were closed,, just operating on B&B basis, but the location is good. WiFi is poor/unstable

It looks nice and is comfortable. Only 500 m walk from The Fisheries Inn, a popular gastropub if you’re looking for food.

Rooms well thought out with tea, coffee, water and biscuits provided. Comfy bed, nice towels, good parking right outside. Not far to walk to the pub and a walk down the canal. Breakfast is usually excellent but we had to leave too early this time to enjoy it!

The bath mat towel had seen better days/ was chewed up on the edge by the washing machine. I also couldn’t find the switch for my kettle in the morning, but I’d blame this on me being tired, rather than anything being faulty. Thanks to the owner clearing this up at breakfast. However, all the above are minor points all things considered.

I stayed on the penultimate day of a charity walk along the Grand Union Canal. At first, I was a bit worried about Boxmoor Lodge only operating as a B&B, but was put at ease by the comprehensive guest info and the friendly voice on the home for my remote check in. The facilities were great (especially the bathroom, I needed a good soak after a 25 mile walk!) and the staff and ambience at breakfast were lovely the next day. While continental is the ‘included’ offering (cooked breakfast is available at extra cost), the range on offer is extensive :-) The proximity to Hemel Hempstead station helped my resume my travels to Kings Langley the next day without too much rush.

Occasionally, there was noise from the main road, but nothing that disturbed our sleep or our stay. The entrance to the hotel is right on a corner, so, at times, needs careful negotiation, but we didn't have a problem. You are running a great place. Keep it up!

This lovely hotel is beautifully set out, and the rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. We travelled with family, including two grown-up daughters and an elderly aunt. All were happy with their surroundings and the breakfast provided, as well as the service from staff.

Location - close to visit our friends in Hemel. The gardens were very well kept and lovely. Ample parking spaces. Staff were friendly. Value for money. This was the second time that we have stayed at Boxmoor Lodge Hotel.

There was no aircon, although a fan was provided, and no fridge. It wouldn’t have mattered so much if we hadn’t been staying on one of the hottest weekends of the year.

The breakfast was fantastic, one of the best I’ve ever had. It was beautifully cooked and very hot when served. The lady that waited on us was really lovely & welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and had a brand new bathroom. The rooms all have their own entrance around a central courtyard with lovely flower beds and hanging baskets.
