Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanSomeone tried to open my door in the early morning around 8am. Feeling a bit unsafe for solo female traveller because the lock is easily to get open up. And very haunting looking, there is an old wardrobe with some shower towels putting inside and always too full to close it up or the staff didn’t close it properly maybe. It’s very weird to see this scenario on the aisle in an hotel. The last thing is that there is no bottle water provided in the room.
The location is just in the city centre next to Morton College and few steps to the Oxford tube and airline bus! The hotel staff are all very helpful and happy to help my luggage with the stairs.

United KingdomIn room heating not working- bit cold until the radiators went on in corridor Eaves room cramped- realise that comes with nature of old building- feels a bit like staying in an old rambling college - not necessarily a bad thing Some breakfast items could be better- - orange juicy a bit watery, pastries also-ran, bacon and sausage cooked for being left out on display never the best Fair amount of corridor noise as guests come and go but bearable
Great check in/out times which work well for 1 nights stays Daughter was attending college ball so location and 24 hour reception were main reasons for choosing this hotel Breakfast was ok , staff pleasant and efficient Reception area nice Our room at the back quiet in terms of outside noise

United KingdomWe we given room 108 which seemed fine if a little dark due to a large vent outside the window which was situated along the length of the building, this was at 2.30 when checked in. Went out then came back 3 to 4 hrs later by which time the restaurant was open and said vent was now in operation. The noise from it could not be ignored and drove me mad! Bathroom sink had also been used at this time but pop up plug could not be released so sink remained full of water. I went to reception and explained my gripes, no hassle no excuses made just a very helpful receptionist who immediately said we would be moved and upgraded. We then moved to the new building which was really lovely, quiet, clean and spacious. Be aware bar prices are extortionate within the hotel but I suppose that's usual.
Good central location and staff very helpful.

United KingdomBreakfast (extra charge) was substandard for the price: limited choice, very mediocre weak coffee from a vacuum flask, and no marmalade (in Oxford! ). Bombarded by emails advertising Valentine's Day offers (even after Valentine's Day).
Excellent location, helpful and polite staff, good public rooms. My room (single on the top floor) was fine, but with little storage space.

IrelandThe bedroom was very warm. This was compounded by air conditioning not working. A distinct lack of breads (replenishing) with still 30 mins of breakfast time left.

FranceThe hotel was packed with Chinese tourists, shouting all the time all night long, in their rooms or in the corridors. They might have been jumping around upstairs as well as it felt like a elephant was in the room. The bed was also way too soft, and I woke up everyday with a terrible headache. I normally have a better stay there, but this time was horrible
The hotel is conveniently located. Check-in and check-out is quick and easy
