Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe room was directly opposite the cafe's kitchen, so I was woken up by their loud chatter early every morning! Only a small thing but very irritating. It's really quite inaccessible to oxford, even if you're quite a fit walker! It's a good 15 minute walk to the nearest sites (eg. Christ church college), and the nearest public transport is a bus stop about a 10 min walk, so you really need to take a taxi if you're travelling to oxford by train. Only a small thing, but the electric blanket under the sheets was very uncomfortable and definitely not needed in spring/summer! Made for a very uncomfortable bed!
The reception staff were so kind, when I checked in they instantly upgraded my room (without me asking) to a ground floor room when they saw that I had a very large suitcase so that I wouldn't have to carry it upstairs! Although the windows in the room didn't open, the air conditioner was extremely efficient to cool down the room which warmed up very quickly during the day. The provided continental breakfast was very generous and varied!

United KingdomThe 'continental' breakfast is a diabetic's nightmare. Lots of sweet items and although you can ask for plain yoghurt and there was a good choice of fresh fruit, it is really hard to avoid sugar (and fat), so we felt it was really poor value for the price. We had sunny weather, but going from the bedroom to the breakfast room could be cold and wet in other weather.
The hotel was situated in a quiet street but within easy walking distance of central Oxford and walks along the river. The room was large and comfortable and all the staff we met were very friendly. Wifi and TV worked fine for us.

MalaysiaIf u r carrying heavy luggages it will be slightly inconvenient as u have to carry them up and down depending on the room u get. The room that i stayed in had some issue with the drainage at shower area I hope they get that fixed.
Well it's a very clean and comfortable hotel, they provide a good spread for breakfast and it's free. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop nearby so getting to the city should be easy. I checked in late but staff provided me sufficient information for a smooth self check in.

United KingdomI didn't like two mattresses pushed together on a king sized bed, instead of 1 king sized mattress. It created a ridge down the middle of the bed, which for couples can be uncomfortable. Otherwise it was great.

United KingdomIt would be useful if more information could be provided on the website about car parking. We had to phone the hotel when we arrived because there was nowhere to pull over to ask for directions.
The room was larger than expected and had the added bonus of a useable kitchen area. The rooms are accessed by a side door, which made it feel very private. The complimentary full English breakfast on our first morning was very welcomed, and while we didn't make use of the cafe/bar at other times, it was nice to know it was available. The location couldn't have been better; the hotel is in a residential street just two minutes walk from the river and around five minutes from the central shopping area and attractions.

New ZealandThe plug in the shower was stuck but managed to unplug it eventually. No views at all the room is functional and comfortable but not somewhere you would want to spend a lot of time in.
The staff at the hotel were fabulous. Hotel itself is located across more than one site, initially we wondered if we were in the right place when we arrived as it did not look like the photos. Room was a great size and very warm as we visited in winter. It was an easy walk into Oxford so a good location. Carparking available if you book it - but it costs extra. The breakfast was fab, and the team in the restaurant were great, as were the reception team.

United KingdomGetting into one of the parking areas was a bit tight - but that may say more about my driving than the place.
We stayed in a room above the Ethos Cafe as the hotel is spread across two buildings across the road from each other. We ate (delicious pizza) and had cocktails (also delicious) at the cafe which was very convenient The hotel is situated perfectly. It is in a quiet residential area - two minutes walk from the river and five minutes from the city centre. Our room was clean and spacious with everything we needed - tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave; iron and ironing board; and a huge TV with all the channels you could need. The super- king size bed was very comfortable. Even with the window open, there was barely any traffic or people noise.
