Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPerfectly located for The Dales Way. Very comfortable bed. Friendly and courteous staff with great communication. We would have preferred a shower than a bath. Good biscuits and sweets in the room and of course, Yorkshire Tea.

United KingdomSpa bath not as comfortable as we expected - decided against using it - uncomfortable - not great to control. Should have asked for more pillows as the ones there weren't good at all. Room only. Finding a suitable breakfast wasn't as easy as we thought - wouldn't do it again.
it was nice and location was good - quality of many aspects good too - pillows were disappointing. Good view from our room. Great to have small fridge -appreciated that. Good bed. Clean and well maintained. If people park well all residents cars are able to be off road. Found great food at one of the old and characterful pubs.

Lindsay, the owner was very helpful! Grassington House is a was very good value for money, ,large Georgian house in a very handy location as it is only 100 meters walk to the pubs, restaurants and shops etc in Grassington centre and there is lovely scenery on the doorstep! The room was clean and comfortable and the checking in, checking out system very easy to use and flexible . Also there is a good selection of teas, coffee, biscuits, sweets in the rom We were only there for one day to do a fell run, but the scenery is lovely in general in the locality and there is plenty to do. The walk from Grassington to Burnsall along the river is well worth doing and Grassington centre has character and is a good night out. The pretty village of Linton in Craven is only ten minutes walk away and Malham cove is nearby

United KingdomNothing springs to mind. . All home comforts there. And bed was especially comfy for a hotel!
Although no staff around to see, communication beforehand (via text) was excellent and left nothing in doubt. Great we could park there, and so close to Grassington itself. Loved there were toiletries and the bathroom floor was heated!! The shower was lovely. Clean and good pressure. PLENTY of tea and coffee and milk, which is usually an issue in other places. And biscuits too!! Also great there was a fridge..although didn't use as only stayed one night. Would definitely come back again. Lovely place. Thank you to Lindsey for great communication.

AustraliaThere are not enough car parks for the number of rooms. If you arrive later in the day you might end up paying for parking some distance away. That's an issue in the rain! Also ask for an upstairs room. The downstairs room we had was not pleasant when the upstairs guests moved around. Finally be aware there's not much by way of breakfast available if you need an early start.
The location is excellent. The town and surrounds are worth the trip. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Though it was very cold outside the room was toasty warm.

United KingdomWe were originally put into room 4 in the main building which was awful. Desperate for a modernisation and not somewhere I would pay to stay. The (unforecast) bad weather likely affected our stay as we didn’t like Grassington, thought there was absolutely nothing there and was too wet and windy to enjoy the local walks I had read about with our dog. Breakfast options in Grassington severely limited, very few places do full English and one of the places that did was rude and wouldn’t accept us. Other areas of Yorkshire much better for village/town facilities while still in a lovely surrounding. The only place I have stayed anywhere that didn’t do breakfast and was an issue getting one locally.
Vendale 1 was nice, really enjoyed the bed with lovely mattress and pillows. The bathroom and fluffy towels was good. Plenty of Yorkshire teabags and little milk pots for cups of tea.

United KingdomOur room number 1 was next door to the seperate bathroom for room 12 so we could hear the door being unlocked throughout the night so not good for our sleep quality. Apart from that no negatives. If we stayed again we would request a different room. The rooms are lovely.
Great location- good to have parking on site. Very clean. Good hospitality tray in our room & fridge. Area very quiet.

Lovely Lodge, very comfortable and clean, great for our fury friend and great amenities. The floor boards creaked which made me worry during the night i might disturb other guests as i used the bathroom but it is to be expected in an old property.

United KingdomThe property wasn’t maintained with holes around the light fixtures, scuffs on the walls etc. The bathroom and bedding were clean but the room was dirty, there was a lot of dust built up, especially behind furniture, cobwebs on the ceiling and the floor had not been vacuumed properly. The bed was not that comfortable and would benefit from thick mattress topper.
I liked the amenities offered - there was a fridge and I particularly the hot drink selection and snacks in our room. Additionally the little touch of providing slippers was really lovely. The bathroom was fantastically spacious with a roomy bath. There was good storage space and a comfortable chair to sit in. A nice view out of the window. Very quiet and peaceful. Easy check in and check out process. Conveniently located in the village centre.
