Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast content is excellent but it is disappointing because it is cold on the plate (it seems that the heat lamps don't work). The rooms are showing signs of wear and tear: the seal around the shower was probably the culprit causing a small pool of water on the floor of the en-suite. In the particular (irregularly shaped) room I was in the position of the desk and the bed made it almost impossible to squeeze on to the deskchair: the distribution of the furnishings should take the shape of the room into account. The shower took in excess of 5 minutes to heat up and I felt guilty wasteing so much water. I would have appreciated a non-slip mat for the shower.
It's the ideal place to stay if one is visiting Lancaster to attend an event at the University. The campus is surprisingly quiet at night. Despite its propinquity to the M6, I found the traffic noise less disturbing than experiences I have had of staying in the city centre. The room is fairly spacious and adequately equipped (it's functional, not luxurious).

United KingdomAbout time for a refresh I think. It’s on the small side if there were to be two staying. No TV which is sort of expected everywhere now.
It’s a good budget option for Lancaster.

United KingdomI didn’t particularly dislike anything. If I was to make any constructive criticism it would be that the room could have done with a little bit of an upgrade.
Small but adequate room with small shower room, hairdryer, iron/board, tea, coffee and biscuits. Didn’t really see any staff as we checked ourselves in and out. Nice quiet location for sleeping yet only 10 mins walk away from the main strip. Breakfast was included in the price making it great value for money.

Room was a good size and clean. Passcode system for access room key worked smoothly. Breakfast was good

United KingdomThe soundproofing is terrible. You can hear noise from all directions, including other rooms and the hallway. People talking on the phone late at night and people leaving their rooms early in the morning sound like they're right next to you. I would not recommend this hotel for light sleepers. I also had a problem with the heating when I stayed in September. It was very cold at night, and the heat wasn't working. I'm not sure if this is a problem that only occurs in the fall, but it's something to be aware of.
This hotel is a great option for budget travelers. It's located in a convenient location, close to public transportation and other school facilities.

FranceThe internet and lack of tv seems a little dated.. can do better. It used to be automatic that breakfast was included but this was no longer the case.
As we were attending a graduation at the university, we couldn’t have landed better! Clean, functional, and we were able to house our entire party. Added bonus was giving our daughter a taste of uni life! Thank you to the clean up crew! Nice to have access to tea and coffee, tho missed having it in the rooms.

United KingdomSmall room but OK for a stop over. And thin walls. But it is a university guest room, not a 5 star hotel 😁 So all good for the cost to be fair.
At a wedding nearby. So good to stop for 1 night. Clean and comfy bed, selection of tea and coffee etc☕ with a good little kettle 👌 Very good breakfast included that we had at the market place. Just what we needed after a night out. 😁🥂🍻🍹

United KingdomI booked through Booking.com and was not provided with a key code so had to ring ahead. Stay 2/9/23 I found Beatrix block hard to find. A site map , ahead of visit would’ve been useful. The Welcome folder in the room was helpful but I couldn’t find various highlighted in the text on the site map
A good selection at breakfast The room was clean but a few niggling repair issues. Beatrix 01 the loo roll holder was broken and 08 the shower tray/ seal appeared to be leaking.

United KingdomThere were only 2 plugs at the desk no others in room lamp was on a 3 pin? The room was on the second floor and I’m disabled so this was very hard for me, I don’t remember the option to request lower floor so possibly I missed that. The shower was so high from the ground approx 6/8 ins this is dangerous for anyone getting out whilst wet, and also the door opens a third of the way along the opening so you lose half the gap to get out, I’m a larger lady so this was very unnerving and scary afraid I might slip or get stuck then the drop to the ground made for a very uncomfortable shower. I’m using all photo spaces to show issues
The room was ok very basic but clean
