Option to bid for a room upgrade. Tried to place bid but it was not clear to me or to the check in desk staff what bid had been accepted and the price the bid was costing. I had understood online that I had one room upgrade at £9.5.. My bid was for £8. but I was charged £ 20.,after some discussion .

There were 10 people in double rooms, all family meeting from all parts of UK. The hotel exceeded our expectations.

I could smell smoke in all hotel corridors, very bad, and in the morning the janitor knocked my door while I was taking rest. They disturbed us because they wanted to clean. Why not check with the reception? Why they woke up their guest?

The ingredients for the breakfast were good, but it was meant to be a hot breakfast. Sadly it wasn't. It aspired to be warm.

Leo’s restaurant food wasn’t very good at all. The ‘buttermilk’ chicken was a birdseye chicken piece cut up and stuck in a flatbread… the pudding was cold (they did however replace it with a lovely pudding from the restaurant upstairs though!). We paid an extortionate amount of money for it (£59 more than we paid to eat lunch at the Ivy the same day- and we had a £60 bottle of champagne while at the Ivy!). The staff were lovely but the food was incredibly poor- particularly for the price. Would have expected the rooms to have usb charging ports in the plugs- most hotels do now. The lady who checked us in, also didn’t have any idea if the hotel had EV charging, or where there was any chargers close by.

Lovely big hotel, clean, modern rooms. Hotel pool staff were brilliant and really helpful. Leo’s staff were lovely. Breakfast was lovely.

Disappointing that the lift was out of order. My elderly mother really struggled with the stairs and as we were a party of 7 we needed to be upstairs and all together.

Staff a little slow to keep breakfast from running out of milk for coffee and bread .Unfortunately cook breakfast was very cold very disappointed.

The pool would benefit from a jacuzzi. The smart tv didn’t work and when asked for help, the manager came to look and kept saying it’ll work in a couple of minutes, but it never did, had to chase them for an outcome (planned a chilled movie night)! We ordered breakfast on first day from the a la carte menu and it took ages to arrive and was very poor quality. The staff took it off the bill. We got the buffet the next day which was much better.

The rooms are spacious and clean and very quiet. Lovely reception and cleaning staff.

The building work going on behind the hotel does not make for an attractive outlook. Our room could have been cleaner - it was dusty.

The hotel has a large airy welcoming reception area. Amenities in our room were good and we felt comfortable. Breakfast choices excellent. We didn't use our car to travel into the city instead we used the #6 bus taken just outside the hotel which goes to the centre (stops outside the Ashmolean Museum and runs every 15 minutes). Car parking cost us £12.00 during our 2 night stay.

The door to the bathroom in our room was shabby and needed attention, if not replacing and there was what looked like make up on the voile curtain. Directions from the receptionist to our room on arrival were a little vague. We got lost and had to return to reception.

The room was comfortable and well maintained. The staff who tidied our room in the mornings did an exceptional job. The staff in the restaurant were also very accommodating.

Bathroom could have been cleaner/less stained.

Room was ready when we arrived. Reception and parking were good. Bedding was clean and bed comfortable. Had a great meal in the Marco Pierre White restaurant. Reception staff were very helpful. Local bus service very close to the hotel and ideal to get into the city centre.

The rooms carpet was heavily stained (looked like coffee), bathroom was small if I'm being nit picky.

Breakfast food kept running out and you had to wait some time for items ie mushrooms to come out the kitchen, buy that time, you either have eaten your breakfast or waited and the rest of your food was cold.

The breakfast. There was plenty of choice, however, all the hot food was cold and the plates were all cold as well, adding to the problem. Not worth the extra £30. The coffee was from a machine as well.

Good location and very close to the bus route to the town center. The property was very clean and well maintained and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We thought we had prepaid for the breakfast however we hadn't so had to pay at the time. £18 for the breakfast each seemed a lot. Our television was not working. Maintenance tried to fix but were unable to. So I had a call to say they were unable to repair and it may be a few days. We were only there one night. I asked if we could move rooms however they were fully booked. We were tired after walking all day and just wanted to relax so a shame the television was not working. Another hotel we stayed at the same thing happened and they offered a free breakfast so it would have been nice for an offer of part payment to breakfast or the carparking charge to be taken off.

Good size car park and park and ride and local bus services nearby into Oxford. Room clean and tidy and a large bed. Bathroom good size and clean and tidy room. Good also to have the tea and coffee facilities. Lovely large entrance and wow factor to the hotel.
