The bar closed at different times every night, although when we asked when we first arrived, we were told it closes at 10pm through the week. They did not stay open until 10pm any.

Very cozy and quaint. Staff was friendly; breakfast was very good. The view was amazing.

Room was good and clean , dinner was tasty and plentiful, breakfast was help yourself seem to be running out of food often at breakkfast.

The only negative thing was that the room was very cold. I asked at reception if the heating actually worked and was told it was on a timer in the evenings but it never turned on. Luckily they had quite a few blankets in the room.

the room was really old fashion and worn. The shower curtain was ripped and hanging off, the room was tiny and the blind in the bathroom was filthy not what I expect anywhere especially from a wedding venue.

Bar closed at 10pm. Dinner was a bit too Nouveau Cuisine. Small portions. We'll presented but inadequate for a main course.

Unfortunately the radiator in our room would not work. The staff tried their very best to get it working, however it would not come on. Had the hotel not had been completely sold out, the staff would have given us another room. They did their best to make us comfortable, giving us additional duvets etc. Had the heating worked, it would have been the perfect budget room, but it was very cold at night!

Food was fantastic. Location was superb, lots of nature all around and right near Blackwood town centre. We stayed in room 38 that is detached from the main building.

The mattress: definitely time to replace, large dips. Veggie options on menu were poor: pasta bake, definitely no match for the variety and quality of the meat eaters menu.

The room was lovely, great views to the grounds and surrounding countryside. Decor and bathroom lovely, staff welcoming.

When you book, they don’t tell you they have weddings going on etc. Hence you can’t have an evening meal there and there was no room to sit down and relax as the venue was full. Had to go out and have a meal and a relaxing drink.

Some of the decor needs freshening up a bit and just little things really like no light bulb in left hand bed cabinet lamp, and no shower gel room.

it is a bit dated and mainly caters to wedding receptions, but that's OK, no wedding was going on while we were there

the best thing was the response to my reservations about the room I had been allocated (could not close window and it overlooked noisy air conditioning machines). the friendly lady on the reception desk gave us a lovely room with excellent views, comfortable bed, hot shoewer and bath. enthusiastic and pleasant (if young and inexperienced) staff. pretty grounds

This is a low priced Hotel that doesnt have perfection if that is what someone is looking for. What it does give is friendly, kind hearted staff, beautiful garden, grand drive leading to the hotel and old world character.

Excellent food and the stay is very good value for money. The breakfast was lovely, well presented. Excellent evening meal that was delicious. Very friendly, warm staff. The Hotel has character. In beautiful grounds and views.

I accidentally left my wedding ring on the side of the bath, remembering on my journey home I contacted the hotel to be told that it was not in the room so unfortunately they employ staff that like to steal other peoples property
