How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

can't think of anything
the Staff were welcoming and helpful, having a secure place to store my bike overnight was a big plus. The room was comfortable and good value. The pub was busy and passing through the bar it looked like everyone was enjoying the evening but I didn't experience any noise disrupting the peace and quiet of my room

The only downside was there was some noise from other nearby rooms but this is an older style property so I would say just factor this in and accept it for what it is as it is.
Staff were really friendly and approachable. The location and parking is right in the heart of Brecon town centre with private parking which is excellent. The facilities for the en suite which is definitely the way to go were excellent and the bed was really comfy. The bar had a modest but good stock of ales and warm pork scratchings from a dispenser which should be a standard for all pubs and bars to have.

The room was comfortable and the bed was massive. The room had a nice size tv and included Netflix as well as the free view channels. They had some on site parking. It was a Short walking distance to the local town.

Shared bathroom was a dissapointment, cold and a bit tired decoration wise.
Great location close to the town centre with free parking. Host and staff were lovely and welcoming. Easy to access via back door so we didn't have to go through the bar every time.

Some areas of the property were a little dated , bathroom hallway carpets but this did not affect our stay
The location of this property was good for our plans. The bar area was very spacious and clean

The bathroom door lock was hard to use. When sharing a bathroom it would be good if it worked properly.
The location was perfect with parking. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great fun in the evenings. Made to feel very welcome.

We couldn’t say we disliked anything regarding our stay, not even the hosts could do anything about the weather.
We really enjoyed our stay, we tried to book again 2 weeks later but unfortunately for us there was no availability. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked.

Out dated, but i expected that traveling on a budget. I wouldn't recommend for older people and those with mobility issues as there are a lot of stairs to climb up. Also hotel is not for those who are light sleepers, because there's no sound isolation. However it didn't bother us at all and we had a good rest.
Location - very close to the Theatr Brycheiniog, only 4 min walk, so it was perfect to us to walk to the concert there. Cafes, restaurants are close too, Morrisons next to the hotel. Room was spacious, bed comfortable, it was clean. Staff friendly, free parking, wifi was good too.

Bathroom light took so long to come on I thought it wasn’t working. The shower suddenly went v hot and I burnt my leg.
It suited us perfectly - right by the bus station and short walk from the concert venues we wanted to visit. V good value. Because it’s 2 star I had low expectations and feared it may be a bit cold and a bit noisy - but in fact it was warm, quiet and clean.
