Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe double room was a lot smaller than i was expecting and advertised on the site and on my booking. Also the TV didn't work when I arrived at the hotel and was very small and so was the kettle too. Very disappointing for a four star hotel and also in the small bathroom the extractor fan didn't work too !
I enjoyed the breakfast, but that was about it!

United KingdomOur bedroom was very small, with the double bed against one wall. Would have preferred to be able to walk around the bed. Only overhead spotlights in the room, no bedside lamps, would be better to have charging sockets by the bedside too. The TV was very small, but manageable. The bed was very firm but manageable, however the pillows were far too firm, and extremely uncomfortable, I would suggest changing these, or having options to choose from. The breakfast was ok, but very limited, you need to provide jam! The bathrooms were in much need of updating, they would then feel more spacious.
Location of the hotel was ideal for us, exploring parts of London we haven't seen before. Easy walking distance to Notting Hill and Kensington Park. Easy walking distance to a couple of options for the tube network. Good amount of plug sockets in the room, despite them not being by the bedside.

United Kingdom- Missing fixtures - no hand towel holder, a missing curtain tie back, curtains half unhooked at top. - Very noisy floorboards. - No coffee or tea at breakfast due to machine failure - no attempt to fix it or provide an alternative. - Shower design makes it hard to shower without getting hair wet.
+ Clean, basic room + Hot water + Friendly staff + Basic free breakfast

United KingdomWe had to wait for about 5/10 minutes to check in as no staff members were at the desk. The door handle was practically hanging off of our room door making us feel unsafe. The floor boards were extremely creaky so I kept getting woken up through the when other customers were walking around. The heating was on too high for a small double room making it very uncomfortable and we didn't feel safe sleeping with the window open.
The location was great and the room was a nice size.

Czech RepublicThe room is really really small - one can fit in, two would be a trouble. The bed is very soft. Breakfast not very good (doesn't bother me, I usually don't have one). Fridge in the room would nice, but one can live without that. Overall not a bad experience.
Acceptable value for money, location is good (10-15 minutes walk to 4 different tube stations in the first zone, many shops and restaurants nearby). Pretty clean. Room is small but equipped with all the necessities. It's okay for one person and a short time stay.

SwitzerlandRoom was extremally small. The first night we had a room with open shower (water going everywhere in the bathroom !!!), and the tap was clogged by a chewing gum and a plastic cap. Disgusting !!! Since they were not able organize to clean it, at least they changed the room the day after. Same size room, but a bit better, with closed shower. Breakfast was very very basic, but ok to start the day.
The position is quite good, close to 3 tube stations and bus stops. Easy and fast to move to everywhere in the city. The bed was ok, comfortable and clean.

United KingdomThe only thing which I felt wasn’t up to scratch was the breakfast but the coffee was good and to be honest I wasn’t expecting much so really wasn’t a big issue. I would the next time I visit would get a larger room. Knew ours was going to be small and it was perfectly ok for one night but on our next vis to london I shall book a larger room I asked to see some bigger rooms and they were lovely
Really liked the location very near to tube and Notting hill high street ,nice pub just two minutes away . Easy to navigate around london to all the sights after read some of the reviews I must admit I wasn’t looking forward to it so was very pleasantly surprised.

United KingdomThe breakfast was terrible. Very limited choice and the cheapest produce. There was only toast and cereal and the bread was frozen and wafer thin. The coffee was ok. Mum is vegan and there was basically nothing for her. Other guests woke us up at 4am and continued to make an incredible amount of noise until 7am. This had a huge impact on our weekend. We were reluctantly offered a 10% discount or to change rooms. We opted to change rooms hoping the second night that we would get some sleep. On the last day, they wanted to charge us to store our bags for a few hour before our train. We were asked for £10 per bag which i thought was a bit cheeky considering what had happened.
We stayed in 2 rooms as we were upgraded to a better room after our first nights stay. The rooms were both comfortable but in need of a bit of TLC. They were reasonably clean but the bathrooms needed a better clean.
