A well appointed large room, comfortable bed and very good shower. Staff were very helpful and found a safe place indoors for our bicycle. The included breakfast was excellent, particularly good choice of options. Well situated for the town centre, a short walk away. Oakham itself has plenty to offer too.

challenging parking spaces (did get into one without incident though !) Otherwise a pretty good overnight stay.

Room -good size, quiet. Has standing fan and additional mobile heater. Spacious bathroom and lovely power shower. Breakfast was relaxed (allocated timing to avoid crowding). Choice of continental and cooked breakfast. Lovely local bread. Free parking spaces available but tight - need exceptional parking skills and patients. Nearby council parking available (free on weekends).

The internet was rather patchy, but it may have been the weather and certainly didn’t make any difference to our stay.

Our twin bedded room was lovely, and very clean, the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. My daughter and I took dinner in the hotel and it was amazing, the best meal I have had for some time!! Thank you.

- WiFi didn't work for a good part of the day - could hear some noise in the corridor

- the room was nice - bed was comfortable - the building is beautiful - the restaurant workers were super nice

WiFi didnt work in our room for a few days - but came good eventually. You could get it in the public rooms. Parking limited on site - so it was always in your mind - plenty paying spaces near by (Hotel gave out plenty of info on this - before arrival)

Quality of the breakfast very good /hot and well cooked but I could have done with and alternative to bacon & eggs variant ie smoked salmon with eggs Room excellent 2 chairs to sit on (yippee) bathroom great size decor modern - we had a twin thank goodness one bed softer than the other

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room, a single room had a large and very comfortable bed. It was spotlessly clean and well-furnished. Breakfast was very good. The chef prepared meals for me that perfectly matched my dietary needs. A great experience and I will return!

The breakfast was a little chaotic. I came down at the elected time to numerous unclean tables, no coffee and no bread. Eggs Benedict forgetting the bacon is poached egg on toast.

I can't account for it but during the time I occupied the room I was aware of an odd chemical smell which, in my long life I have never encountered before. I can't describe anything similar. It was such that it lingered in my nasal passages all the following day. Most strange. Unfortunately iny haste to leave and be on my journey I forgot to mention it to reception. At that stage I was not to know that it would last all day..

A first rate hotel. Staff polite and helpful. I had initially been given a room upstairs despite asking for a ground floor room and when I asked If a room on the ground floor was now available this was arranged on the date of my arrival.

The hotel needs some work on cleaning and some maintenance in common areas like stairs, windows etc. Cleaning in bathrooms in particular needs to be improved. One of the days the breakfast was slow and ended up with the wrong order. TVs could do with an upgrade with something that can take casts from apple/android.

The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. Breakfast is always nicely prepared. Was very surprised by the restaurant in the evening, expensive but very nicely presented and cooked.

Car park too small. Had to park in Pay & Display next door and then go out early next morning to pay for another ticket. Long walk to reception with cases, especially as one member of the party uses a walking stick

Having the private car park is great but the entrance is quite narrow and maneouvring around it is pretty tight.

Absolutely everything. Every single member of staff was friendly and helpful, the room (#4) was absolutely superb - spacious, clean and the four poster bed was very comfortable. Hot breakfast cooked to order which was very good, as was the accompanying continental selection. We arrived early, intending to park and come back to check in later but were offered early check-in on the spot at no extra cost; fantastic customer service. They were also happy for us to leave the car there the next morning after we had checked out whilst we explored Oakham for a couple of hours. Mainly thanks to the staff, this was quite simply one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. We will be back!
