Sink taps were broken. Window blinds not adjustable. Poor view. Breakfast a bit disappointing. Would have liked choice of eggs cooked to order. Not many pastries or fresh fruit left when I was there.

Lovely spacious room with comfortable bed.

We were in room 4, which is out on a limb. Not sure if the room is due for a refurbished. Because the old cast iron radiator in the room would heat up, yet the newer radiators in the corridors were warm. It wasn’t a problem for us as the weather was warm, but could be if in winter time. The food menu was a bit limited and the alcohol drinks prices expensive. We would stay here again if in the area

Location is excellent. Good value, Clean and comfortable. Excellent staff. Hotel is going through a refurb

The breakfast area was somewhat cramped. The self service was not very efficient. It was tricky helping oneself to the tea and coffee whilst others were getting their hot food.

The bar area was comfortable. Pets were welcome there. It wasn’t too busy.

When I first arrived the cottage room I was allocated was steaming hot. Heating on full blast and it was 19 degrees outside. Couldn’t be turned off. But the lady in reception was fantastic and moved me to a lovely cool room in the main house. Renovations going on but needed and will make it so much better. I was out all day so didn’t affect me

Lovely friendly and helpful staff especially the lady in reception. Location was perfect for my workshop. Easy parking. Rooms were spacious especially in the main building and very clean. A little tired in places but renovations are ongoing. Room service meal was piping hot and good. Simple pie and chips but nicely done.

It's a beautiful old building but the restaurant seems to have more of a diner feel. Not sure whether this is new, or always the case, but didn't feel in keeping with the decor or tradition of the place. Nice breakfast though and comfortable enough.

Lovely, spacious room, bathroom with bath, parking directly outside. The room was in the annex at the side of the main hotel (the 'cottage rooms') where you could park in front of their entrance. Booked a room each for me and my mother, who struggles with stairs and this was perfect for us. Hotel chose our rooms based on need and couldn't have been better, excellent communication via Booking.com before arriving. Biscuits in room appreciated! Breakfast £9.95 was good value. 11am checkout very appreciated! Excellent room rates.

The hotel is currently being refurbished so there was a lot of work going on but the builders didn't start too early in the morning so it didn't inconvenience us at all.

The hotel was clean, our room was much larger than the usual hotel room and so was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. Good tea/coffee facilities. Plenty of parking within the grounds. Location was excellent and was within walking distance to the town which had plenty of pubs and restaurants. The staff were very friendly. We didn't actually eat at the hotel but used the bar and drinks were priced reasonable.

Wasn't overly impressed with the cleanliness, while moving the sofa in the bridal suite for a shoot I found food underneath.

The hotel is beautiful in the old parts that are still showing its original character. In my opinion, modernization does not necessarily mean getting rid of that old character

The lighting especially the bedside light , too dim to read by. The staff tried to help but I think this is a long term problem especially for elderly people, whose sight is dimming

Room very good apart from very dim lighting. staff helped with this. All staff very attentive and kind. and helpful. I enjoyed the breakfasts and also the very good Tika Masala.

Think the jacuzzi bath could have instructions as we couldn’t work it!

It’s a lovely hotel, staff are so wonderful and the food was delicious. They are making a lot of improvements to the building which is difficult as it is a beautiful old building. We loved the bar area too, reasonable price for food & drinks.
