How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very clean and spacious. Nice little private garden. Location excellent for Quay. 5 minutes walk to town and Harbour.

In need of an update decoration wise, but we weren't there to study the decor, for us it was a place to sleep while visiting our uncle's.
Perfectly situated for where we needed to be. Comfy beds & plenty of room. You couldn't want for a better placed, base to stay if you wanted to visit the harbour & town. What's more, it came with free private parking, which is another bonus for Poole.

Hot water didn't seem to be constantly available, struggled to wash up had to boil the kettle

The location was perfect. The owners were very friendly and made sure we had easy access to the apartment. The apartment was clean although a little dated but had everything you needed.

Very poor hot water pressure due to there being no “head” of water in the cylinder cupboard. Could do with a shower pump being fitted.
All was good, excellent location to the quay, pubs & restaurants.

Everything is fine for us but some may find the flat's fittings a bit old fashioned - e.g. cooker is old but all works fine.
Easy walk to the quay, pubs, restaurants and cruises. Free parking. Easy access to ground floor flat. We've stayed there a few times and it suits us.

It could do with being updated, and there was a slight mustardy smell when you walked in but it was good value for money.

The smell of damp was extremely strong and the previous people left dirty cups in cupboard this was missed, but the actual apartment was good location and adequate facilities, clean other than those few cups. The host was there to meet as said to give keys and around if any issues if required each morning so believe but we never needed him, just a shame about the smell it was quite over powering, assume it was a damp smell as that is the only way of explaining it but no damp could be seen?

Nothing at all. All good.
The communication from the owners was excellent, answering my queries by text instantly and supplying information about anything I may need to know. The apartment was nicely furnished and was very clean and had everything in it you may need. Beds very very comfy with nice lined and plenty of towels were supplied. The location was idea for Poole Quay and Baiter Park which is where we wanted to spend time in the bars and also walking our dog. The apartment had a nice outside space too where we could relax and have a drink together.

The only things I think they could possibly improve on was a more comfortable settees in the lounge and with able to take dogs on the ground floor it would of slightly improved it was if a bit of the garden outside the French doors fenced off so you could let the dogs out on their own. It was lovely though having a garden straight out of the flat.
The flat was lovely, well equipped really clean. Lovely to be able to bring our 2 dogs. Being met by the owner and close to the quay just a short walk to that and the town centre.

Having stayed here a few times before, I felt our apartment was getting a little scruffy and dirty (cobwebs & stains on the sofas) but generally linen & surfaces were clean as always. Prices have unfortunately gone up over the last few years!
Location is brilliant, just off Poole Quay with private parking. Great sized apartment for three people. Internet, TV, good shower and a dishwasher!

We could not get wi fi ,there was no password around .I messaged the owners and didn't receive a reply .Also the shower is very temperamental.
