Room was a bit rough around the edges, cracked mirror, broken wipe dispenser, just the overall finish… Half smoked cig and litter on the balcony… And the building site directly outside, gorgeous view

The hotel looks and feels expensive/posh on the ground floor

The room did feel a little old, the bathroom flooded after a shower if towels weren’t laid down

The area was great, lots of nice places around and walking distance to most of the city.

For the money (£175 on matchday) I was a little disappointed. We were disturbed all night with sirens going past, window was closed. Would recommend a non stadium view if your a light sleeper as the metal windows do not stop any noise. There were notifications around the hotel about the gym being closed ( had no intention of using as there for the match but would have been good to notify in advance for those who were intending using) Room and shower were abit grotty which again for the money was disappointing.

Location for St James Park was perfect. Bed was comfy. Check in early by chance when we went to drop bags off. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was expensive for the size of the room, we couldn’t get on the WiFi and the breakfast was expensive with no hot food options for a veggie

Perfect location for the city and for the football

A little noisy outside, from traffic- however it was expected as we had deliberately chosen the hotel for its location

the proximity to St James Park, it’s comfort and spacious rooms and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff working there.

It wasn’t as clean as last time we stayed and the parking was more expensive than advertised but we didn’t object as it wasn’t expensive generally.

It’s easy to find with close parking

No complimentary parking. Makes overnight stays with own transport a bit more expensive.

A lovely night's stay but we probably won't be back - it was a little too noisy for us.

With it being a city centre hotel, I completely understood it might be noisy (especially because we were staying on the bank holiday weekend), however the amount of noise (even 9 floors up) was insane. People were out on the street screaming at 4:30 in the morning, police cars were flying about outside, and there was people running up and down the corridors late on into the night. Whilst that isn't the hotel's fault, it's just something to consider if you're planning to stay at the hotel.

We got a really good rate for the room, and were pleasantly surprised with the view - we were overlooking St James' Stadium which was a treat for my partner who's a huge Newcastle FC fan. The room itself was lovely, excellently furnished and had everything you'd expect. The staff were brilliant on reception, we arrived early, so were going to drop the bags at reception, but it turned out that a room was ready and we were able to check straight in. My only comment would be that there was a flickering light in the bathroom, one of the lights wasn't working in the bathroom, and the wardrobe door was stuck, so you couldn't actually open it to put anything in.

Bath plug wouldn't open, they give you hobs but nothing to actually cook with so the hobs are pointless. Said we would have had bath robes, none in sight. Balcony and all glass on the balcony was manky black. For the price I'd have expected more cleanliness. The bed was so soft that when my partner rolled over I'd fall into him.

It was close to everything we needed.

There was limited crockery, ie 1 spoon, 1 small plate, no bowls. The crockery that was there also wasn’t very clean however when I asked for more the staff brought more. We also didn’t like the size of the bath towels they were far too small and didn’t wrap around our body and there was only 1 bath robe.

We have stayed here before because of the location and also the room we had. The room we stayed in had a small kitchenette which meant we didn’t have to eat out for all our meals and it also was spacious and had a settee. Each time we have stayed all the staff have been exceptionally helpful and very accommodating. It’s a lovely touch to be able to use the coffee machine in reception.

In the bathroom there was a shelf above the toilet to which my husband hit his head on every time he used the toilet. Myself was hit in the back. It was quite dangerous. When reported at front desk was told nothing could be done.

The property was very good amenities above expectations. Staff friendly location perfect.
