Limited private parking

Very friendly staff. Provided with 'window seat' for our meals. The lift was invaluable for my Mum getting to the bedroom.

I didn't find it a problem myself, but if you have mobility issues there are alot of stairs. But there is a lift. No hotel parking (there is a paid for private parking lot just over the road, but it's quite expensive, and during the day in good weather it gets very busy).

On the sea front and very close to the town centre. For a single occupancy room it was spacious and also well appointed and very clean. View was excellent, straight out onto the sea front. All the staff were friendly and helpfull. Breakfast, full english, was good and served quickly, plus there is a nice selection of other self serve cereals, breads, danish pastries and yogurts etc.

Only negative for us was the memory foam mattress wasn’t very comfortable and affected our sleep.

There is no dedicated car parking and the hotel public areas could do with an upgrade.

We enjoyed a 3 day stay at The Bedford as part of a touring holiday around Devon and Cornwall. We were welcomed by a friendly member of staff and checked into our spacious well equipped and comfortable sea view room. We enjoyed a really good bar lunch on our arrival and had 1 evening dinner in the restaurant during our stay which was well presented and delicious. The breakfast choice was really good, freshly cooked and set us up for the days touring the surrounding area.

The hotel offers parking but it turns out to be about 3 spaces down a vey narrow road. On road parking was very limited and the car park next to the hotel was £14 a day. It would have been nice if the hotel could have negotiaited a discount ofr residents

Difficult to find things we didn't like. The bar downstairs had all cocktail components but were not able to mix the cocktails, the dinner in the hotel was not extremely inspiring, there's no safe dedicated parking on site, but it's all very small things.

Brilliant small hotel. Amazing location, nice downstairs bar. The staff was absolutely amazing, very friendly and welcoming. We were looking for a dog-friendly place and this definitely exceeded our expectations. Very, very enjoyable break.

Our room was stunning with absolutely magnificent views over the bay. The bed was super comfy and the room beautifully clean. The staff are lovely and so helpful. We had a fabulous weekend and are already planning our next visit!

On arrival we were allocated a table and told this would be 'our' table for all meals. However on more than one occasion we found our table being used by other guests. one night we went to the theatre and when we got back about 10.45 we found the hotel in Darkness and the front door locked. Another guest also joined us and we were looking for a bell. after 5 minuets or so a member of staff came passed and she told us we could get in through the side door using our bedroom key. They should make this information available to all guest.

Nice size bedroom. Breakfast was very good. Evening meal were generally good, though unsure about the lamb chops (as were others we spoke to)

Parking is an issue particularly for those with disabilities. The hotel has 4 spaces so it’s virtually impossible to find a spot There is a public car park across the road. It costs £14 for 24 hours but if you go out it’s often impossible to get back in until much later in the day

The hotel generally felt a little bit dated and aimed at the older customer, but dated by design rather than run down.

The location on Sidmouth seafront was fantastic, with everything you need nearby. My room was also a very decent size, and nice and clean. Sidmouth itself is a lovely place to stay as a place on the South West Coast path, and is easily accessible by bus from several different locations including Honiton train station.

Car parking was very limited at the hotel, I should imagine this was the case with most of the hotels in the immediate area. It does mean extra cost to use public car parks, which all adds up especially when visiting other places in the day.

The room was ideal for us, there was a lift which was handy. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. The hotel position was great, close to the sea and the town.

Friendly, helpfull staff and clean, neat modern room with good amenities. Reasonable size for a single room. Great sea view. Good full english breakfast. Close to everything in the town.
