How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nice old inn, very comfortable and quirky in a fun way. Our host, Glenn, was friendly, helpful and just a good guy. THe food was out of this world. We ate dinner there 2 nights when we could have gone elsewhere. Glenn cooked us our choice of breakfast each day and it started us off with a smile. Excellent experience, would go back there in a heartbeat.

Everything was lovely but if I had to pick something I would say that for personal preference the mattress was a little hard, however this could be perfect for the next person, so not really a big point.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food at the pub was amazing, we had dinner and breakfast here and it was some of the nicest food we have had. Reasonably priced. The room was nice and bright and spacious. Nice little village.

The stairs but understandable in such an old building.
A large cool room with high ceilings.very quiet at the end of a corridor.food was very good and large quantities.friendly staff and you could check in early.free parking in the square.

Enjoyed the stayover experience, Excellent food and Drinks choices. Friendly and professional service Clean Rooms with fantastic shower. Very busy in the evening with local people in the bar and eating area, good atmosphere.

The restaurant was a little on the cold side. Pillows in bedroom were hard and uncomfortable. Shower needed better pressure.
The staff were really friendly. Food was great. Room was comfortable and a good size. Nicely decorated.

Parking was a little tight in the small square, you could time it just wrong and not get a spot. Suggest arriving just after five and should be no issue with parking.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food was excellent. Premises were clean.

Easy check-in followed by a show round the property. Room was well prepared, clean and surprisingly quiet. The meals were tremendous with big boys potions.

Our room was on the front and there is a street light outside the window which meant that our room wasn't dark enough at night as the blackout curtains didn't quite fit the whole of the bay window which is an original window. I did mention it next morning and did stress how comfortable the bed had been and all the other positives.
The staff were welcoming and friendly. Very popular with the locals but there were also visitors who were attending a music concert at The Town Hall. Spotlessly clean room and comfortable bed. Plenty of tea, coffees and milk in the room along with biscuits and hot chocolate sachets. The meals being served in the evening seemed good-sized portions and looked appetizing. We had breakfast which was lovely. Plenty of choice: cereals, croissants, yogurts, breakfast bars, porridge and fruit, orange juice, tea and coffee to order. Good choice of cooked breakfast including Eggs Benedict and full English.

The only thing we didn’t like were the pillows, they were too hard but other that that we thought The George was great.

Grilled tomatoes could do with improving

No chair in the room
My only criticism would be that there was no chair in the room, in faitness there was no room for one but having to sit on the bed wasn’t the best experience, on a positive note bath sheets were provided which was a bonus. Breakfast was excellent.
