Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNoise from the street was excessive and without double glazing it was difficult to dampen down the sounds to get some sleep. Also the curtains did not cover the whole of the window allowing the morning sun to wake the occupants who had only just nodded off after the streets had quietened.
The room was clean and comfortable.

United KingdomIf you want to be in the city centre, it’s incredibly convenient. But be prepared for the insane amount of noise if you’re staying on a weekend night, from drinkers and sirens in the early hours to the world’s noisiest truck deliveries to the adjacent businesses early the next morning. Three of us stayed, two had a terrible night’s sleep. A real shame, as everything else was spot on
Fabulously friendly and helpful staff

United KingdomMy room was on top ( third ) floor - no lifts but that was ok but the Wifi did not work at all in that room. Couldn't connect at ll most of the time and lost connection whenever it was made.
Location was ideal for me - an easy walk from the station and close to the Quays Fridge and tea / coffee facilities in room were useful.

United KingdomThere wasn’t a breakfast. I feel even a little continental breakfast or something fun would be good. The TV should be a smart TV! We couldn’t get half the channels in the standard room.
I really liked the really spacious room and the receptionist was really great!

United KingdomThe recently refurbished room hadn't been completed. There was no mirror in the bathroom, although fixing fittings were in place. The curtain rail track is not sufficiently robust to hold the curtain in place.
Good location, warm welcome.

United KingdomThe curtain on our window didn’t fully cover the window, had to be careful when changing as people from other windows could look in. We were woken up at 7am by the loud cleaning staff (talking and laughing very loudly) and it felt like they were practically in our room. Eventually after an hour and a half we had to go out and ask them to be quiet.
Bed was really comfy and had a lovely shower! Location was perfect!

United KingdomThe chair provided was not appropriate for the desk, the common areas are dark, shabby and the surrounding area was sketchy in the evening.
There was a fridge and a microwave in the room which was handy, they have single rooms availble, which means it was the cheapest hotel option for a single traveller. NCP round the corner.

United KingdomThere was a mop bucket & caution sign directly in front of the room door as it looks like there have been some issues with water from the ceiling, though this didn't affect our stay.
Excellent location and the staff member on reception was extremely friendly and efficient. We have stayed here before so we knew what to expect in terms of the facilities. The hotel is a little run down in some areas, but for an overnighter, it does the job 👍🏻

SpainTo begin with I was given room 6 - a single room, as booked, but which was cold and did not have a fridge. Being a lady who was travelling on her own I had specifically booked at the New County Hotel as I believed all the rooms had fridges and my plan was to buy salads and yoghurts etc to eat at least 1 meal a day in my room. After requesting a change of room twice, the receptionist consulted with head of housekeeping and my room was changed. (room C18) and it was very good. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were very lumpy. Good shower room.
For what I needed the hotel is very well situated.

United KingdomCould not work out TV buy never needed it so eh ho. No where to hang long garments, Coats, dresses etc, A couple of hooks on the walls would have sufficed, plenty of room. No lift. Car Parking locally is hit and miss.
Room 34, second floor. Reception allocated room as requested: quiet with opening window. Room faced onto internal void which was very quiet, opposing rooms were being renovated and unoccupied. Room recently renovated, good shower, firm but comfy mattress. Fridge and microwave was useful addition. Chair and desk was good, cups, plates, bowls, KFS supplied also glasses and cups. Kettle and selection of drinks and pkt of biscuits. Sufficient hanging facilities for about 8 items. Cleaning staff very nice. Location is dead centre high street.
