Only a minor point but my room had no view. Not really a problem as once in the dining area and beer garden the scenery was spectacular.

Friendly staff keen to ensure stay was a pleasurable experience. Location is on the less busy side of Windermere which is a big plus and regular passenger ferry to Bowness can be reached within a 15 minute walk.

Nothing to dislike, just maybe preferences with blinds, pillows and the variety of food.

Due to traffic we arrived quite late, but the staff was so kind and accommodating, getting us some dinner despite being time for their kitchen to close. The staff during our stay has been extremely attentive, so helpful and friendly. We have loved staying here. The location is perfect for outdoor activities, the village is gorgeous and the garden to have a drink is beautiful, with great views. The room was big and comfortable, the beds were nice. The only 2 things we didn't quite enjoy in the room were the pillows, a bit hard, and the room is very light in the morning. Although the views are so beautiful. The food is nice, although I wish there were a few more healthy choices, but we loved breakfasts. The whole vibe is great, we'd love to come back.

A few more gf options would have been good (especially on the Sunday menu and one gf meal had been forfeited for a range of delicious looking non gf roasts).

The best gf fish and chips I've had for a while! My husband enjoyed his food too! Friendly staff, comfortable room and the weather to enjoy the outside seating area!

Lovely quaint place, great rooms and breakfast and meals were amazing !! Staff were a family and super lovely ! Nice and peaceful location, near to Beatrix Potter house and only a short walk down to the lake to get a ferry across to Windermere if you fancy a bit more going on.

A very friendly welcome and the most gorgeous summer beer garden. This is a beautiful tranquil setting just far enough away from busy Ambleside or Windermere, while both are easy to get to. The family running this are kind, full of smiles and know how to make you (and your dogs!) feel at home.

The weather!

Warm welcome, large comfortable and clean room. Good food for dinner from wide choice of food/beers/wine with good service. Nice breakfast, again with good choice and service. Very convenient for Beatrice Potter location ( though we didn't go)

The family that run the inn were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. We had a wonderful stay and the fact that the inn is extremely dog friendly was a bonus. The room was warm, comfortable and clean with all of the necessary amenities. We had a lovely last minute break and we will certainly be back.
