History and atmosphere . Staff very professional - made the stay exceptional !

This was a bucket list stay for me (a milestone birthday) and I loved the castle experience. Our room (Mary Tudor Suite?) was amazing; spacious, comfortable, and gorgeous. The decor and furnishings in the bedroom felt historically appropriate but fully functional. The bathroom was one of the best I have experienced. The breakfasts were excellent. In addition we had two dinners which were also excellent (but possibly slightly overpriced). If I were to stay again I would have only one special dinner at the castle and eat elsewhere other nights. The neighborhood was peaceful and we enjoyed walking through the garden one evening.

Splendid castle lot of history well preserved. Lovely gardens. Friendly staff very accommodating to our needs great advise and support from the front desk. The food was very good in a very nice setting and great service by Pedro.

There is nothing to not like.

There are no words to describe the experience. Rooms are excellent, service fantastic, area beautiful, food great. Price reflects the level of luxury but is worth it. We went with a 9 year old, and we had an absolutely great time.

We loved everything.

This was everything we could of wanted in a stay at a castle. Great staff great grounds and left feeling very regal. Plus the room was amazing, would strongly recommend to anyone else.

Amazing afternoon tea service. Then they took us to our rooms, which were equally as high class. Spotless and extremely high end furnishings. Extremely comfortable bed!

I wish there was more historical information about the art, and architecture available. There is a tour but only at certain hours and it must be prebooked. It was not available on the day we stayed. I simply wish I could have learned more about the English standards, the art and the furniture I was seeing around the castle, maybe a brochure or an app. The information on the TV and the pamphlet they hand out explain the history but not much about the items I was looking at.

You are staying in a true Castle and the experience meets the expectations. A true once in a lifetime experience. The dinner was perfect in every way. The Henry the 8th suite was magnificent from corner to corner and the Elizabeth the 1st suite was brilliant with the largest bed I've ever slept in. The bath in the Elizabeth room overlooking the English countryside was unforgettable. The grounds and gardens were so much fun to explore and experience. Afternoon tea was delicious as well as elegant.

I had called for room service and was directed to leave a message, so I did. Asked them to bring me a Caesar salad, I never received one and never heard back from reception. Other than that the place is amazing.

No really would recommend and would revisit. Chose not to drive, would be great if Thornbury still had a rail station but was pretty easy to get to from Bristol parkway via taxi and back into Bristol via bus.

Good breakfast options as you would expect. Fantastic location and within easy walking distance of Thornbury and other places to view and visit. STaff were very freidnly and they were helpful with allergies

Everything!! From the moment you drive in its amazing, the staff are superb, friendly welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, and when you enter your rooms, well!! that's another reason you should stay unbelievable in the best way.

Both the bar in the afternoon and breakfast in the morning we had to wait a while to be served. The bar no one was about for 20 mins.

Lovely location, peaceful and quiet. Close to town with pubs and restaurants.

Exceptionally beautiful hotel with oodles of character and charm. A real old english castle. Bedroom had plenty of space, a four poster bed (Lady Jane Grey room). Large bathroom and wonderful fluffy towels (I am looking to buy some for myself at home). Bed comfortable.

The history, the staff, the location, the room, the gin, the bed, the bathroom, the pillows, the breakfast, the grounds, the church bells. This was our last night's accommodation in the UK after a month of travel. So lucky to spend our last night at Thornbury. A perfect 10!!!!!

Nothing could be better here...

Probably the best place I have ever stayed in! The most amazing rooms in an actual castle, luxurious rooms furnished fit for a queen, immaculate, spotlessly clean, yummy breakfast, the surroundings and atmosphere can't be beaten and a good rate for what you get. I cannot recommend staying here highly enough. I cannot wait to return.

Need to look at the third party with the helicopters They were not good and believe if you offer a service it should not take 2 weeks to try and organise just for it to be mis represented .

The place was amazing. However…. Trying to organise a helicopter was a frustrating. Part of the stay. Ended up not happening . Staff were fantastic. Rooms were amazing. Grounds were spectacular
