Location was stunning and use of swimming pool a bonus

The pool is not large enough and the very low depth for several metres and only 1.5metres at its deepest spoilt the experience. very crowded with just a few people in the pool and lane obsessed as a result of the size. The hot tub and changing facilities are excellent though.

we loved the location and facilities for our dog. We liked the breakfast, but the dinner was let down by the limited offering and our waitress was sweet but needed to improve in some areas. It was always our intention to eat out and try different locations for most of the evening meals but our experience on the first night made it no competition. I would emphasise that it did not in any way say that this impacted on our enjoyment of the stay and is simply a minor point. The lodges are well appointed and the staff hard working, efficient and friendly

I can't fault the hotel, I would definitely stay there again!

The room was superb. it had a private balcony and we could see the sea in the distant. It had been recently refurbished to a very high spec. The breakfast was really lovely, lots of choice available. The indoor pool was a good size and booking a slot in advance meant it wasn't over crowded.

We stayed for my daughter's wedding.The staff were amazing, very attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them. Fantastic food in the restaurant, lovely facilities which were very clean. Great stay!

Connecting to the WiFi was a pain with the login a problem. Good once connected. Small tv.

Hotel & grounds excellent & well maintained. Staff professional, courteous & friendly. Rooms a good size, exceptionally clean with plenty of wardrobe space. Everything done to make your stay as pleasant as possible with a feeling of a nice warm atmosphere throughout.

Not much I can think of. It was at first a tiny bit disappointing that one restaurant was closed and the other was having quiz night,... but actually we enjoyed taking part and food was excellent so no complaints .

Impressive building with a good back story , nice helpful staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, good value . Tea on the charming terrace was a highlight. We were persuaded to join the quiz night in the restaurant by friendly maitre d' and to our surprise really enjoyed it .

Maybe have a word with the pizza maker. 1 cm of cheese was a bit too much topping 😜 It's not really a complaint as such.

The staff were a real credit to the hotel, they couldn't do enough for you. The cabin we stayed in was spotless. And the breakfast was fantastic.

Something wrong with toilet plumbing in room 102 understandably meant unclean toilet but strangely also seat was dirty on arrival. Certain staff seemed a bit rabbit in headlights at certain normal requests such as booking time in the pool. Some didn’t know the area or that Daphne Du Maurier used to live nearby. But on the whole good value for money although best restaurant and bar were expensive.

Wonderful food - good service for all breakfasts and dinners. Lovely old building with interesting history. Good size rooms - nice grounds - handy to have a pool. Arranged cakes balloons for daughters birthday in room and at special meal which was lovely. Let us know just in time that our original planned birthday dinner clashed with their quiz which meant we could make other arrangements within the day. Restaurant manager very kind and hospitable. One lady very helpful at breakfast on local walk suggestions and very kind. Would stay again, maybe in different room.
