Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy only critique is that the rooms were a bit warm without any air conditioning. This would not change the great hotel, installation may not be appropriate for such a lovely place..
This is a fantastic building set in nice grounds, relatively close to Bedford station. The rooms were large and very clean and comfortable, I had a great view across the grounds from my room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room has all the amenities you need..

United KingdomBig safety issue was the hot water, it was scalding and much to hot to be safe. Very dated decor, curtains in room very translucent letting the morning sun straight into the room. No nets so when we opened the curtains there were people in the car park looking straight into the room. Bathroom in our room had white marble floor tiles which were stained around the toilet.
Great location, plenty of parking, walking distance to Bedford Park concerts. Staff were helpful and friendly.

United KingdomThe bed was rock hard, too hard for me, but ok for my partner. The view out the window was down into there back yard so not so good. It is an old building so the windows have seen better days. .
Lovely hotel. Fantastic staff. Peaceful. The food was great, we only had a evening meal. Great grounds. Would come again if have softer mattresses.

United KingdomThe bedroom was a bit cool with only a portable oil filled radiator if it got really cold. In winter one would hope for the main radiator to work. There was no double glazing. Overall it suited us on the warmish night we were there but on a cold night it might have become very cold. Of course we could retire to the lovely warm bathroom but that had no bed in it!
We had the (cottage),4 rooms apart from the main building so it was very quiet and felt newly refurbished with an outstanding large bathroom which was a lot warmer than the bedroom.

United KingdomEarly check in fee of £20p/h ended up amounting to £60 (3/4 of the cost of the booking on this occasion) - I felt this was unreasonable given the room in question was already prepared.
Beautiful grounds - both peaceful and picturesque. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a little break from reality.

United KingdomThe dinner menu in the restaurant was a little limited in terms of choice and the portions were not over generous. However, the food was well presented and tasty. Breakfast was more plentiful with good choices available.
Very pleasant and helpful staff and a comfortable and clean room in an interesting and well maintained old manor house. I took the package that included dinner and breakfast and felt that this represented very good value.

United KingdomMusak in reception, Bar looks a bit like it was being decorated on one occassion. for me a nice addition would be an EV charge point nd a bigger menu. One one visit there was no fish and chips left at 8.30, but the food was, as stated above average, so the alternative was good,
It's a fine place for a few nights, but out of the way but the staff were good (needed more staff) On one night I was kept awake till 1am by the infernal musak in the reception, but they had fixed this by the next stay, Food was above average as was the wine. They gave me reduction for the Musak at night, thanks. Parking good.

United KingdomLots of irritating little things Light switch for bathroom was temperamental, light up mirror in bathroom didn't work, no dressing table, mirror on wall too low, plug on hairdryer cracked in half and last safety tested in 2016, pulled plug out of socket and socket came out of wall, room too hot and no way to turn down the heat, window wouldn't stay open had to wedge it with a cushion. Giant cobweb on the curtains. Booked through booking.com as cheaper than the "deal" offered by the hotel when attending a function. This was questioned by the hotel staff on check in and was then told that we had been given incorrect information and that breakfast should have been included in the special deal rate - wasn't offered a refund though!!!
Room was functional, breakfast was great

United Kingdomnothing for the value for money - rooms are quirky but pleasant, don't expect too modern.
I loved my stay at Moggerhanger Park and will definitely stay there again - It is an old historic building, a small stately home with ample history. It has a lot of grounds, beautiful trees, a woodland walk, a cafe, a museum of its history, and even a lovely walled garden! And excellent parking. If you stay here, you are allowed to wander round the old house and really you get so much more for your money than a usual Bed and Breakfast. It also now has an in house restaurant which serves simple meals in the evening which I found useful. My room was quirky and flushing the loo took patience (Due to the historic nature of the house), but my room was lovely and I love all the old antique furniture both in my room and round the house. Breakfast was good and served in a lovely room. All in all - I think this is great value for money, and I will definitely stay here again. Staff are all very helpful and friendly as well.
