Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

WOW!!! If you want to get to know Athens and the Athenians, not tourist "postcards", this hotel is for you. It is very close to two hills with a beautiful view. We always walked to the center so as not to miss any of the unexpected attractions. The Exarcheia district itself is wonderful and unique (you will appreciate it especially if you like the atmosphere of Camden Town in London, the charming streets of Porto or the artistic district of Copenhagen). It is safe and the locals are very nice. There are as many bookstores as cafes, restaurants and artistic graffiti on the walls (on one of them there is an inscription: Do not take photos, Exarcheia is not a museum). The hotel staff are masterful at being nice and helpful. All the positive comments we read before our arrival were confirmed. The room has everything you need, always clean, bathroom, fridge, air conditioning, and at the reception you can always get water, coffee, Coke and a friendly smile.

The staff was simply amazing. They managed to arrange parking for our 'tiny' van despite the narrow streets being packed with cars. Finding a massage for one of our friends was also not a problem. Yes, the hotel is situated in the real Athens, full of a typical vibe, and good restaurants are nearby.

CanadaEverything was sparkling clean and the overall service was awesome! The employees kept checking on us so we have all we needed. In particular, the receptionist, Kourosh made us really feel at home. I talked to the hotel owner, Aristo and I found him an extraordinary person with so much passionate about his bussiness. He offered me free local drinks among which I loved the Mastic.

GermanyThe Jacuzzi was in not very nice condition and definitely needs repairs and renovation. Avoid this room if you’re only coming for the Jacuzzi.
Very cool surrounding area if you like alternative vibes. The room itself was very good with a nice balcony. The friendliness of the person has to be highlighted ! We felt really welcome!

IsraelThe price was bit expensive compared to what we got but I assume it’s because we booked it few hours before arriving and on Saturday.
The people who work there are the nicest people ever. They got us in a surprised check in in the middle of the night and helped us with everything.

United StatesThe only complaint is the shower floods the bathroom. This is by design so not sure how it could be fixed. It wasn’t enough to bother me that much. I will still book this place again.

United KingdomNone. Perhaps the only weakness is that it is far away from Acropolis.
Large room, artful style. The floor is cement, so the decoration is at a low cost, but the style doesn't look cheap.

United StatesAll was good!
The warm welcome from staff made was much appreciated especially after a long day of traveling. Our greeting was followed by a lay of the land, where to go what sites to visit and the best time to arrive. The room was comfy the location was in walking distance from some of the best restaurants in the area. The next time we’re in Athens, we’re definitely staying here!

United KingdomThe electronic key pad for opening the door to the apartment failed to work but thankfully an old fashioned key in a lock box was also provided. It wasn’t possible to connect to the room’s internet but I easily managed to access the connection for another room. Okay but it wasn’t great speed and did cut out intermittently. But not a big deal. The safe door wouldn’t close but room felt secure and I didn’t have valuables to leave in there anyway. I would have preferred secure fitted sheets for the bed because the bottom flat sheet easily came off the mattress. Due to the inaccessible position of the bed sides, you had to crawl in from the bottom, it wasn’t possible to remake. Must have been very difficult for the cleaners! None of these minor issues would stop me booking again. It felt like a comfortable, calm and clean refuge from the busy city.
A compact well designed apartment. Perfect for solo travellers. I am sure to return with a companion, but will book a two bedroom apartment, although the studio was much bigger than most hotel rooms.
