Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaWe loved it all. Our stay at Elea Mare Hotel was nothing short of magical. Gregor's exceptional hospitality, the stunning seafront views, the delicious breakfasts, and the overall sense of tranquility and comfort made our vacation truly special. We left with unforgettable memories. Elea Mare Hotel in Peloponnese is a hidden gem, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an idyllic Greek getaway.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Elea Mare Hotel in Peloponnese, hosted by the wonderful Gregor, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. We spent five nights at this charming establishment and were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our stay. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with incredible service that truly exemplified the essence of Greek hospitality at its finest. Gregor went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect, and his warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel like cherished guests throughout our visit. One of the most enchanting aspects of our stay was falling asleep to the soothing sounds of the waves just outside our window. Our spacious balcony offered a breathtaking seafront view that allowed us to feel the beauty of the Mediterranean in a truly unique way. Gregor surprised us with a local treat, tsipuro, and even provided us with instructions on how to enjoy it best, encouraging us to sip it while watching the mesmerizing full moon from our balcony—a moment we will forever treasure. The breakfasts at Elea Mare were a highlight of our mornings. Local products and delicious pies lovingly made by Gregor's mother, they were a delightful way to start the day. The breakfast terrace, with its understated jazz music playing softly in the background, created a special ambiance that set the tone for a wonderful day ahead. The beds at Elea Mare were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring that we had restful nights and woke up refreshed and ready to explore. And speaking of exploration, the hotel's location is ideal. Just a short three-minute walk took us to a nice beach, which we had almost entirely to ourselves due to the end of the season. This sense of seclusion and luxury was a true gift. Additionally, Elea Mare is conveniently situated near popular tourist destinations like Monemvasia and Elafonisos, making it the perfect base for day trips and adventures.

RomaniaWonderful location beside the sea, very quiet. An excellent place for a good rest. We stayed here for a week. A very nice sandy beach with a good restaurant can be found at 150 m from Elea Mare. The view towards the sunset is very beautiful across the Gulf of Laconia. The breakfast is served from 8:00 to 12:00, late enough for people who don't like to wake up before ten. At breakfast you can eat orange marmalade, fig marmalade, orange cookies, chocolate cookies, and various pies made by the owners with local ingredients. The owners and the personnel are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are squeaky clean. Fast access by car to other places in Laconia: Monemvasia, Elafonisos, Neapoli, Gytheio.

United KingdomThe usual issue with just about all Greek hotels: small shower cubicle with those shower curtains that cling to you no matter how hard you try to avoid it. I’m not really complaining about it, it’s just one of those things.
Lovely hotel. Our room was massive with a large comfortable bed & great sea view overlooking the gulf of Laconia. Owner is friendly and helpful. Great buffet style breakfast - eggs, various breads & pastries, yoghurts, honey, cereals etc.. - all this with the lovely Anna on hand to make tea/coffee and always with a cheery smile! Quiet place for a good nights sleep but within a 10 minute walk to the village where there are various bars, cafes and restaurants. If you can’t handle the 10 minute walk, there’s a good taverna literally around the corner.

SwitzerlandElea Mare has a very nice and helpful owner who does his most to feel the guest at home. He is very helpful with information of any kind. Every morning they prepare a different breakfast with fresh local products. The rooms are spacious enough and with a balcony right onto the sea. The room and the small bathroom are clean. It is a very quiet place, within walking distance of the small village, where there are a few taverns

SwitzerlandOnly one thing comes to my mind, but this is common for ALL and any hotel in Greece - the rooms and balconies for smokers and non-smokers should be separated.. It has never been nice (and I mean in ALL hotels) to relax in the sun and wind and suddenly being attacked by a stinking cloud from cigarettes ;-) If you overcome this issue... somehow... it would be simply perfect place for a tourist like me :-)
I was considering for a brief moment to give a very bad review here... so that rooms are available when I come back ;-) But that would be extremely selfish of me, considering.. how much LOVE and ATTENTION TO THE DETAIL the owners put. So then.. honestly - one of the best places to stay, especially when you are fed up with crowded beaches and crowder touristic places and just want to calm down, enjoying the winds and the sun, not disturbed by anything :-) But - you need to have a car - in order to visit some interesting places around. And.. maybe you've been told something about Greek hospitally and Greek staff being nice etc etc... but visiting possibly 50-60 hotels in Greece I can say this: This one tops out all of them! :-)

United StatesThe closes beach was tiny and had no shade, so we did not use it (although the hotel owner gave us a small beach umbrella to use without charge). The whole area is not really touristy since Peloponnese is very rugged and there is no way to get from one place to another quickly. Finding the village and the hotel initially was a little bit challenging – you need to have a GPS with up-to date maps. The Internet would not work from every spot in the room, but I consider this a minor inconvenience. The property is in good shape overall, but some cosmetic updates will revive it (like updating the bathrooms).
The staff at Elea Mare is their biggest asset. If you want to be treated like royalty, this is the place to visit. They are super attentive to all your needs. They will go the extra mile to complete every request you have. The owner would meet you every morning in the dining room, welcome you, insist on bringing your coffee to your table (although breakfast is buffet style), introduce to you all the specials they have that morning. Many things (like pastries) were made by his family, and some fruit was from his own garden. He will ask about your plans for the day and give you ideas and tips about day trips. Our room was right above the sea, and we had a wonderful view. There was a big balcony where we could watch spectacular sunsets. The dining area had the same view. The room was much bigger than most hotel rooms and had enough storage space, a desk, a refrigerator, and even a drying rack you could bring out to the balcony to dry your swimsuits. A real bonus! We ordered a king size bed, and it was a real king size. It was very comfortable. There was a small table and 2 chairs on the balcony for watching these amazing sunsets I mentioned before. We were tipped about a wonderful sandy beach with very calm water in the village of Plytra, about 15-20 minutes drive from the hotel.

Sea view, amazing view from the balcony. If the number of stars are given in function of the hospitality and the explanation and friendliness of the owner, then this would be a 5-stars hotel. Two separate bedrooms. Good breakfast
