Mosquitos..

Where do I start... What a beautiful place.. Michelis and his lovely wife Julia made us feel right at home. The studio was clean and very comfortable, and our sheets and towels were clean and changed according to our needs. The view was spectacular, and we enjoyed walking to Hydra Port every day. Christina was absolutely fantastic!. She answered all of my questions pretty much straight away and offered useful advice. Thank you!!!!

Vichos Studio Apartment is a corner of paradise where dreams come true the apartment is easily reachable by taxi boat or with a pleasant walk overlooking the sea arrived at your destination you are greeted by Michael, kind and helpful who lives downstairs with total discretion throughout your stay you can also communicate with his daughter Christina. the house is equipped with all types of equipment including a breakfast basket for the whole stay Last, but not least overlooks entirely on a terrace overlooking the sea to infinity

We loved everything and are already planning a third visit next summer.

Loved the calm location and amazing views. This place is just ideal. Friendly and helpful hosts, it was a pleasure talking with them. Easy walk to two great low-key organized beaches and a nice place for a quick swim just below the property. Nice meals and coffee/snacks in Vlichos and scenic easy walks to the surrounding areas.

Where to begin. We already had extremely high expectations for this place after seeing the photos and ratings, but our expectations were actually exceeded! Even from inside, one gets amazing sea views but once you go on the terrace, wow, 180degress of unobstructed sea views. Truly breathtaking. The apartment has everything you could possibly need and one can tell that the hosts have put so much care, love and attention to the place as it is decorated so nicely and was very clean. Upon our arrival we also found a vase with fresh flowers, a basket full of local yummies, a bottle of wine and water. Within a 5 minute walk from the place one can find 2 beaches and 3 tavernas. Hydra port can be reached by water taxi (7 minutes) or on foot (35 minutes) along the coastline. We recommend trying this at least once. One can't not mention the exceptional service and hospitality provided by the hosts and by their daughter Christina. From the moment we booked till the moment we checked out Christina was always reachable by message and answered promptly to any queries or requests we had. Her father Michalis who lives downstairs with his wife was so charming and friendly. The hosts, the apartment and the surroundings guarantee that we won't stay anywhere else during our next visit to Hydra.

We loved absolutely everything.

Really incredible place to stay on Hydra. The studio is airy with wonderful views on all sides. It is nicely designed, extremely clean and has everything you would need for simple meals. The hosts even provide two beach towels and some bottled water. The location is in between two great beaches organized with lounge chairs and you can also swim nicely just two minute walk below the house. The view from the terrace is a dream. The hosts are incredibly kind and warm but also discreet, it is up to you if you'd like to chat and ask any questions but you have your own space if you prefer that. There are several places to eat within a few minutes walk (we love Enalion, ate there almost every evening). This place is for you if you want magical calm. It is maybe a 30 minute walk to the nearest mini market and 45 to a bigger grocery store. That is something to just keep in mind and plan for. We stocked up once in town (and took a boat taxi back with everything). We loved the walk into town and the walk the other direction toward Plaka. It is easy to take the public boat service to/from Vlichos or Plaka and of course always easy to call a boat taxi.

We absolutely loved staying here. The most airy and bright apartment with windows on all sides with a stunning terrace and view to the sea. No need for air conditioning as you get this great cross breeze and there are screens on the windows. Also a ceiling fan. A huge plus for those of us who worry about climate change! It is only a 15 minute walk to the Four Seasons hotel where you can rent sun beds and swim in the sea and have a fabulous lunch. Also only a seven minute walk to the local taverna and also to swimming spots. The owners of this apartment are just fabulous. We did not meet Christina, sadly, but her parents. They brought us a dish of fava, the most delicious meal we had! They were so friendly and warm. We definitely want to come back here. Hydra is a beautiful island with the added bonus of having no cars. this apartment would be a great choice for the cooler months as well as you could do a lot more walking.

Beautiful place to stay. very quiet, away from the crowds and an amazing view. Michaelis met us on the dock and helped with our luggage and was very friendly. There was a welcome basket with crackers, jam, honey and other snacks as well as a bottle of wine in the fridge. lovely stay!

There is absolutly nothing bad to say about the apart, location, facilities and hosts. Everything was amazing. Our only problem were the mosquitos that were quite a lot in June, even though the apart was equiped for them, it was hard to stay on the terrase between 19.00-22.00. But this was a problem on the entire island. Probably there are less in other months, closer to autumn.

The terrase has the best view over the sea, I felt like in luxury hotel taking breakfast with the breathtaking view. The apart is very spatious and has everything you could possible need. So much detail put into the decor, so clean and well organized. Fresh flowers on our towels at arrival and in vases, a breakfast baschet with quality jam, butter, biscuits, honey, coffee, wine and water. I loved Vlichos the most from all of Hydra, quiet, not as crowded as the port, one of the best beaches on the island- Vlichos beach at 3 min from the apart and 3 great tarvernas at no 3-5 mins-Enalion, Marina and Four Season. We recommend Enalion. We ate there every day! The location is a 30 mins walk from Hydra port by the fabulos coast line and 5 mins by water taxi or boat. We took the boat only on the first and last day, as the walk to the port was one of the highlights and also really good exercise:D. Last, but not leat, Michalis who lives downstaira with his wife is such a charming person as well as Christina who interacted witb us over messages. I would not choose any other location when i come back to Hydra!!!

The location, whilst scenic and peaceful, is very difficult and expensive to access. Vlichos has very few facilities. There are no shops and only two restaurants, with limited and almost identical menus. Whilst it’s only a 5 minute trip, getting to Hydra port by sea taxi and beach boat costs a minimum of €40 return. It’s an hour’s walk with some steep climbs. The back stairs leading up to the flat do not appear safe. They are thin, metal steps intended for fire escapes or temporary use. They could be subject to rust, and with regular, daily use may eventually fail.

Lovely, spacious and airy room. Huge terrace with a breathtaking view. Tastefully and well furnished. Welcome pack of snacks, bottled water and wine. Michael and Christina are excellent hosts and good communicators.

THE DISTANCE FROM THE DROP OFF PLACE AT VLICHOS BEACH WITH THE SEA TAXI, UNTIL THE APPARTMENT IS AN ORDEAL! YOU HAVE TO WALK THROUGH THE SAND CURRING THE SUITCASES! SOMEONE SHOULD BE THERE TO HELP WITH THE LUGGAGE!

THERE IS NO BREAKFAST AVAILABLE, YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR OWN PROVISIONS. THE VIEW OF THE LOCATION IS MAGNIFICENT! WE LIKED THE SPACIOUS APPARTMENT AND THE FRIENDLINESS OF THE OWNERS MICHALIS AND IOYLIA. ALSO THE NEAR BY PRIVATE LITTLE BEACH IS HANDY FOR THOSE WHO DON'T LIKE CROWDY PLACES WITH SUN BEDS.
