The hotel compound itself felt safe (not least because there are armed guards around the entrance to the onsite casino). However, I was warned that the surrounding area is dangerous. I walked to the local mall (5 mins) in daylight, and although I experienced several racist remarks made in my direction (understanding a little Spanish), I was not unduly concerned. However, I would not have felt safe doing the same short walk after dark. The hotel is a long way from the centre of Georgetown, so taxis are essential to get around the city. The staff were polite and mostly helpful, but seemed unwilling to assist when it came to getting hold of local currency, which you can only do once you're in Guyana. There is an onsite bank, but they were unwilling to change any currency other than USD, which surprised me. So make sure you come with sufficient USD.

There aren't many large hotels in Georgetown, and this is one of the most well known, so was easy to get a taxi to / from the airport (I came into Ogle and left via Cheddi Jagan). The rooms were fairly large and well presented, although it was strange to have a wholly glass walled shower in the middle of the room, with only a thin strip of clouded glass. Although the selection for breakfast was not large, it was different every day and included more local dishes. It was nice to eat in the morning, and drink in the evening, by the large pool.

We didn't have any pillow case on our pillow the hotel provided papers cups in the room for making hot drink paying that amount of money and provide with paper cup I always taken my own cup

The bathroom was leaking and it appears as if there was some damages in the room about and the repairs were not completed. I use the safe and it appears as if someone attempted to over ride our password code and we were locked out

The breakfast was ok there was a variety of things you can choose. However there were flies all over your breakfast . The location is appropriate because it is like a close distance to the town area

I booked a one day stay as a staycation for my birthday, I was pleasantly surprised with the room and view. The front desk staff were accommodating and assisted me with an early check in. Ok getting to my room, my air conditioner had an issue coming on and the front desk alerted maintenance that came swiftly to fix it, although some water still leaked from the AC. The room was very spacious with floor to ceiling windows and a nice view of the road , and a nice balcony, the decor was nice , I liked the bathroom set up. I had clean towels and toiletries, the water pressure in the shower was also phenomenal. The TV worked fine, the phone worked fine. Overall my experience was great. The only downside I had was an odd experience when two ladies who I assumed to be housekeeping came knocking at the door , and after not getting a response for sometime cause I was genuinely trying to figure out if the knocking was on my door or a different door. As I walked towards the door they lady opened the door from the outside. I doubt staff is supposed to open the door simply cause they knock and no one answers , so as I got to the door which she just opened seconds before I could reach it she asked what time I would be checking out and I said so and that was the end of the interaction. I found that strange. Otherwise , I had a nice stay. I got to get the free breakfast option in the morning. It was a pleasant stay . Thank you to the Ramada team

The staff at the pool side restaurant were very unprofessional. My husband was told by one of them that she had big tippers that she was attending to so she was unable to attend to our table after she brought us the menu. I was also surprised in the difference in service when I (Guyanese accent) spoke to them vs when my husband with a foreign accent spoke to them, it’s almost like I did not matter.

The location is good for those arriving late but needing somewhere to stay before heading to the intended destination. The front desk staff was amazing, the young man at the front desk was very helpful and professional.

I use the gym and the facility is very good. I come for business so don't use the pool. My only complaint is my shower never got hot, it barely got warm but I wasn't going to make a deal of it. I think a good recommendation is too change the shower heads in all rooms.

No soap to wash hands the ironing board was faulty had difficulty opening it up and was unable to close it the desk in the room had no lamp making that area dark was unable to do any work or comfortably stay there. Despite requesting several times to correct the situation it was not addressed.

We used the Ramada taxi service from the hotel to the airport. Was given 2 verbal quotes that fair would be $6000 Guyana dollars. Taxi picked us up on time but charged us $8000 and said that the hotel didn’t know their rates. Unsure if we for ripped off or not but your location may need to be aware of this.

Room was large and very clean. Bed was very comfortable and despite there being a party the floor below, it was quiet and very private! Wished we could have stayed longer as we had an early check out but would stay there again!

The room was nice but the shower design in the open room was ok for a close couple, but I would imagine a little difficult for some people privacy wise! There was a problem with getting towels etc. when necessary, and hot water proved to be non existent! The room was showing a little tiredness in furnishings etc. Don’t take this as a highly critical assessment of the hotel as the staff more than made up for any shortcomings. We will have no hesitation in using the hotel again!

Amenities can do with a few modern touches. Not a fan of the look of the outside of the hotel from the front. Doesn't exactly look like the photo. Could do with a new paint color

The kids enjoyed the pool.. my husband and I felt safe and comfortable knowing there was a lifeguard on duty. Exrcutive Bedrooms were nice. Need some updating though. I LOVE that the hotel has an arcade and theater for kids and casino for the adults. There was something for everyone
