The staff were extremely friendly and nice! They made us feel very comfortable and at ease, which is what you want on your summer vacation. The rooms were simply furnished, but had all we needed. More importantly, they were air-conditioned, and there was plenty of parking space behind the building. We took the option of having breakfast (which is vegetarian) at the hostel, and were very happy about that, too. There was a nice beach just about 10 minutes away by car, and it was also easy enough to get back on the road and make day trips to other places we wanted to visit in Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy.

The building is a former metal sheet industry, which is ok. What is not so cool is that the area around the building is super dirty and not well kept, just like the rest of the city of Rijeka unfortunately. Not a fault of the staff, who is very nice and efficient. The breakfast is good, but you can't choose what you eat and it's both salty and sweet, I would have preferred to choose at least whether to have either salty or sweet food. The beaches nearby are very small and crowded, I would recommend going to the island of Krk, just 1h30 away. Water is crystal clear almost everywhere though. Sound isolation is not that good, I could hear people talking in the room next to mine until late night.

The staff is super nice and available, the bedroom is comfortable, quite area (all day and night), good breakfast. We didn't try the restaurant at lunch, though it seems really good. The laundry service is fast and efficient, the building is at walking distance from beaches and also from a centre with a supermarket and a cinema (in case it rains and you don't know what to do). It is also not far from other beaches and areas you can reach by car, so I would say it has a strategic position. Also, very large and easy free parking.

The renewed terrace in front of the hostel looks fantastic. The host is a very pleasant and welcoming person. Parking places are always available and easy to access. A few minutes from the very city centre. The beach is walking distance.

There was construction for a new terrace, it made things a bit messy and some parts of the hostel were closed and I had to walk around the building in the rain.

Vera, was sooo helpful! She is caring, kind and very informative to every single question I asked. The staff agreed to every request I had and had me feeling comfortable. Yoga classes were free and very nice.

The light from the parking side of the hostel at night is very very bright and kept me awake. The curtains are helpful but for me still not dark enough.

Nothing really.

The personal was really friendly, and helped us with showing where the beach is and we were even allowed to park the car in the parking place, even though we were already checked out. Checking in went fast and checking out is even easier; just leave the keys. The breakfast was really good. All vegetarian, but that is not a problem. Also a good price (4eu). The rooms are really clean and they looked very new. The bathroom was perfect, with a nice firm shower. The room also has enough wall outlets. It is basic, but good. The beds are boxsprings, which is perfect for not breaking your back. Rooms have airco and heating, so all year should be comfortable. The location is just a small walk (via stairs) from the beach. City centre and castle are a bit farther (35 min walk), but for me that was not an issue. It is really quiet at night, so easy to sleep.

Not your typical hostel, we had our own private room with 2 beds and our own bathroom. The ladies working at the hostel where extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating, one of them was so kind when she knew I was unwell and helped us with doctors and hospitals. The rooms where clean, well ventilated and with good air conditioning. For the price you really can't complain and the rooms where practically brand new.

Rijeka in general could do more to keep the area clean from cigarets and other trash. Lot of graffitty and the area is quite industrial, does not look as turist friendly. But it was quite comfortable anyway and it felt safe to be around the area, even at night. It was easy to find bars, but harder to find restaurants. A good restaurant nearby was totally booked, but they were friendly to give us (2) place anyway.

there was a nice atmosphere in the place, they grow their own veggies and did care about making good vegetarian breakfasts and lunch. We could walk to the coast where we could bath and shower after being in the sea. There was also a bar with drinks and sandwiches. The hostel was walking distance from a Lidl and to the Tower shopping center. Be aware, there is a lot of ladders to climb when going back to the hotel from the beach. Family friendly beach. Friendly people.

A nice spot in Rijeka for our one night stay. Simple and clean, with friendly staff. Quiet sleep, hot shower, good breakfast and safe parking. Lively beach with bar less than 10 minutes away. Morning yoga class was a bonus.

Furniture is old, incl broken off window handles, breakfast us served until 9 by the bistro downstairs. wifi breaks when multiple guests are using it the local bistro has an aggressive manager, not taking care of guests (no menu, no comms, staff hides in the kitchen) but gets active towards guests taking advantage of the terrace (probably why the bistro is always empty)

the hostel is near the beach, that is the sole advantage.

Great short stay at the Dharma hostel - the location is easily reachable via bus from the city and very close to a nice beach nearby. The staff were really friendly - especially Vera and Andro who made us feel very welcome.

Noisy trains during the weekday. A small table and a couple of chairs would help in the room.
