Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast buffet in the restaurant was absolutely poor. Whoever is looking after it is clearly trying to save cost. One morning, we arrived at around 815 to find they had run out of fruit. The coffee was dreadful unless you paid more money for one for a machine.
Location and reception staff were super. Room was a fair size and the terrace was most welcome.

United StatesThe firmness of the bed was my only complaint but not a deal breaker.
I liked the history of the hotel and how easy the check-in process was. The staff made me feel very welcomed. And the restaurant was great too.

United StatesI loved it all!
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The room was very clean, modern, I had a little balcony overlooking the charming stone streets/buildings and surrounded by so much history. It’s in the middle of the old town and very accessible to everything. The staff was so delightful and friendly. The free buffet breakfast was excellent and I loved that I could order any eggs that that wanted. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you for everything! 🤍

United Kingdommy only issue was the noise. due to the hotel being in such a central location, the noise at night was quite loud, especially on friday and saturday nights in the nearby bars/restaurants. was woken up at 1am nearly every night.
amazing central location so was close to everything, felt very safe which was important as a solo female traveller

United KingdomEverything. I loved this hotel and can't understand why it's not 4*. I arrived early, hot and tired after an early start, expecting just to drop off my bags. However I was made to feel very welcome and was able to check in straight away. The room is lovely with a spacious bathroom. It was spotlessly clean. But the best thing is the location, in the heart of the old city so you feel a real sense of the history. Opening my window and shutters reminded me of A Room with a View. Would love to return to Split and to this hotel.

JapanMaybe the TV could be easier to operate -- but that is the same for many hotels nowadays, which have a hugh number of channels, many of which dont allow access.
Location in the old city was great. (You need a map to find it, but it only took me a few minutes.) Breakfast was reasonable. Staff were friendly.

AustraliaIt would almost seem churlish to mention but a few more bread options for breakfast would be nice if it could include wholemeal and/or wholegrain. Perhaps it was because we visited at the end of the season.
Lovely little hotel. Room was extremely quiet and comfortable. Location in the heart of the old town quite near to historic sights and to the Riva waterfront promenade was perfect. Restaurant offering traditional Croatian cuisine in quaint former bath-house was a bonus. Just loved our stay.

United KingdomOnly very minor issue was occasional smell in bathroom caused by plumbing. However this didn't spoil my stay. The cleanliness was excellent though.
Perfect for my 2 night stay. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. I had to check out before breakfast because of an early return flight. The reception staff kindly offered to provide me with some food to take with me.

United StatesGreat location not far from one of the main entrances into the Palace from the waterfront promenade...when you are staying in an ancient walled palace where no vehicles are allowed and you are dragging around all your own luggage, location is king! Hotel, like much of Split, is an appealing mix of the ancient and the modern. Staff at front desk available day and night for any needs. And the restaurant down below the hotel, where breakfast is included in the price of the room, was wonderful and a great way to start the day. We wanted to go there for dinner as well, but we ran out of time.
