The walls in our room were a little bit too thin so we could hear the room neighbours talking at night.

Food was delicious, the room was spacious and the staff extremely friendly and competent. The spa was really clean and beautiful!

The pool includes a "whirlpool" area, but the water nozzles are fixed in a location that doesn't offer any massaging effect. In fact that part of the pool gets a little discomforting after a few minutes.

Exceptioanlly friendly staff, most of which also speaks German. The location is easy to find in the ablsolutely quiet periphery of Sopron/Ödenburg. The atmosphere is fantastic if you like 18th century architecture and interieur. Very good breakfast buffet and dinner is fantastic and reasonably priced, occasionally even with genuine hungarian live music. The wellness area offers a swimming pool of decent size, mixed sex IR cabins, sauna, and hamam and also massages of various kinds. the vast castle garde invites for extended walks. Food and beverages are also available in the wellness area. The hotel offers room service. In contrast to almost all other hotels I've visited you are not treated like a potential fraud. There is no prepayment required for anything. Everything can be billed to the room and payed at check-out; flowers and champagne as a surprise for my spouse, room service, restaurant, food and beverages in the wellness area and even massage treatments.

Beautiful castle with nice sauna and spa! Great sport possibilities with tennis, basketball, work out room, table tennis etc. Gorgeous and huge garden! Very special location! We enjoyed it a lot!

The room we got had no A/C, they provided us with ventilators. The little discomfort with the heat was offset with the great atmosphere and good quality attention of the staff.

The place is amazing, a historical palace, gardens. The staff was very professional, fantastic food priced reasonably. Great indoor pool, parking, great breakfast.

The room had a small window that was so high that we could not see anything outside. We were not warned about that. At the checkout - at 10.00, I asked if I could use the pool as long as we were waiting for the lunch... I was told I had to pay 50 Euro to use the facilities after the check-out per person!!. Needless to say that we left and obviously we did not stay for the lunch. Their loss, I guess.

Such a beautiful place, we prolonged our stay there, and will come again. Large and stylishly decorated rooms, nice park to go for a stroll in, huge and comfortable wellness area, perfect service, gourmet food and wines. We felt welcome and at home.

Stylish hotel in a castle with a rich history. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.Breakfast top class ,with a wide selection to choose from. The dining area was very clean and so well decorated. The park around the hotel is beautiful for an evening walk after dinner. Ease of parking. All staff were excelent, very friendly&helpful. Thank you very much, we will come back with great pleasure.

Due to distance from any town we relied on public transport and taxi as we arrived at nearest railway station at Fertoszentmiklos 10km from Szidonia Castle - but we knew this in advance. We used the hotel's bicycles on the second day. We are used to better bikes but I am not complaining. We got around. Only scrambled eggs available for breakfast. I would have loved a bit of variety in the egg menu, like a boiled egg or an omelette made to order. No toaster! Toast is very important for Irish travellers in the morning.......

Lovely dining room overlooking the parkland of the castle. Very peaceful stay away from noise and busy life. Indoor swimming pool excellent. Sauna, Steam room and massage perfect. Dinner on both nights exquisite and friendly waiter. Loved the quail egg and caviar starter wrapped in cucumber skin. Great attention to detail.

The dinner buffet food was not more than a 7/10 and thus expensive at 30Euro per head. The meats were overcooked and all in sauces, the salad plain. There were two desserts - the tartlets were not fresh.

The breakfast was great. We also paid for the evening buffet. The setting for dinner was perfect. The ambiance was lovely with a piano player, and the waiters were attentive. We also made use of the spa services and really enjoyed it.
