The cleaning could be improved.

Begadang is the dream place for travellers ( solo or not) who wants to join the family ! Thanks to Antony and Bella, we are feeling very welcomed and they manage to get eveyone ( who wants ) together everyday for different activities ! ( sunset, board game, snorkeling,movie, drinks,… ). Everybody extend their stay on the island, there is no secret, Anthony and Bella make it an easy décision !

Fairly pricy, especially if you go for private dorms. If you don't need the social aspect there are better value for money options.

Schöne Anlage with a nice pool. Great (western) food! Nice atmosphere all around. A great choice if you are looking for a social hostel with a relaxing atmosphere.

Bed sheets in the bamboo 3-bed dorm were dirty when I come. They didn’t want to change it. So I asked to change to the newer 3-bed dorm which looks like a European house. Unfortunately this has no change to exchange the used air because no windows can be opened. Air refreshing is only possible through the door. Please change this situation. It was the reason that I left earlier and rather slept somewhere else. 12€ for a dorm bed is not worth the money. U find on the island double room with bathroom for the same price.

Social life. Lots of positive and outgoing guests. It’s easy to meet people because the stay offers dinner every evening. Not including.

The bed was pretty hard, didn’t have the best sleep.

We stayed in one of the rooms across the road. The room was huge and the bathroom was huge and really nice too. Definitely a more social place if that’s what you’re looking for.

During my stay it was only cold water from the shower. There were some electricity problems, mostly bc of storm. Food in bar is a bit expensive.

Really lovely place. Pool area is so nice! Rooms were cozy and clean, although a bit small. Loved the terrace. Owner of the place was really friendly. 15 min walking from the harbour, close to beach. Wifi is okay. AC is good. Almost every evening is some kind of activity, so it is easier to meer with new people.

The Aircon room was pretty pricey for a hostel, but still good.

The Aircon rooms by the bar were great, spacious and clean (quite pricey though). The small non-aircon huts and basic but nice and super good value (we originally booked this but had to get Aircon as it was too hot that night). Food is great, pool is lovely, staff super nice. Live music and movie nights.

Cannot point on something specific, I really enjoyed our stay in Begadang and if I would come back to Gili - it will definitely be a place where I will stay once again!

The territory of it is beautiful and extremely comfortable. You can find almost everything there available: from breakfasts and great coffee till bicycle rental and ping pong. The staff is also very friendly and supportive.

Bathroom had a funny smell and the water pressure wasn’t great but I think this is a struggle for the whole island.

Lovely staff, amazing food and the place was great for organising social events e.g. quiz, pub crawl etc.

The ventilated rooms are basic bamboo huts with open air private bathrooms. I had one hut next to the kitchen tent with noise from early morning to late evening. Including cooking smell. Not cool.

Social Place, you can meet new people around the pool every day. But it’s not a true bagpacker destination anymore like in lonely planet described.

We stayed in the family room, it looked like on photos though it was a bit smaller then I imagined. Regardless the island is very small you would walk 15-20 minutes from here to good snorkeling points with turtles.

The property is amazing and very well maintained. A lot of people work here to make sure that the territory is clean, the plants are watered, and guests are treated exceptionally. There are a lot of gazebos, long chairs, tables on the yard, you can use them to relax or get together with a company. They organize some group events you can join if you want. One evening we watched a movie on the open air, and it was fantastic. After the booking I received a lot of information about the property, the way here from the harbor, and other details. If you read carefully all the information you won’t be disappointed as they honestly and precisely describe all the facilities.

The pool filters didn't seem to help so the pool usually looked like there was stuff floating in it. This didn't make it really unclean but it's just something to look into.

We enjoyed our cabin for 8 nights here. It was clean and the access to free water was perfect. We loved the balcony too. There is a good size pool to cool off in and seating areas too. We only ate here once (as it was more than our budget could allow everyday), but we did enjoy the breakfast. Friendly staff, there were activities put on and communication in the whatsapp. Only a few minutes to the beach. Very easy to get around. Comfy bed and the sound proof was ideal due to the mosque in the early hours.

We have stayed five nights in the superior room next to the pool. We have booked this room as we wanted to have a little bit more space and that was great for all our stuff. The room was cosy with the two floors and the bed comfortable. And we appreciated the free water dispenser a lot to fill up our bottles. We could not use the balcony due to safety reasons but that was no deal as there is as well a small terasse and several other seating areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Every night there are activities (movie night was great) and I think the hostel also organizes boat trips during the day. I have read many comments saying that it is too loud in the night but we did not feel the same. Of course there is music and people standing at the bar (the nice community is why you are staying at Begadang) but it was not too loud although we were staying next to the pool area. The hostel is close to the beach and several Warungs/restaurants in walking distance.

The shower only had cold water and right after checkout they start cleaning the room in the morning while I was still trying to sleep. But that way the room was always clean.

Kind staff, happy to help. Nice room (shared with two others) with outside shower/toilet. Bikes available for rent and restaurant on the property. Everything is really closeby (beach, restaurants). Free water and towel available.
