A bit expensive tour to tumpak sewu, for solo traveler it is not always a good price, only good for 2 or more people which is bit sad, more than 1 mil for tour to the waterfall because i am solo is a bit much. Otherwise no negatives!

No remote control to operate TV, AC plug only below TV and too high if your wire is short (you need to improvise). If you stay longer, limited breakfast options - only 1 of 4 options serves local food (rice with egg), they could add a few more options for those who seek to eat local food.

Nice place in well-maintained area of the city, walkable distance to the centre and train station. The rooms are very simple, a bit outworn but since the price is low, you can't complain much. They also organize various tours, we tried Bromo for 600k per person, it was worth it and it was also very special (there were just 2 of us). The breakfast is at 25k per person for a menu that has 4 options. There is also a restaurant on the site that serves food until 8.30pm. Free car transfer from the train station (but not the other way). The staff speaks English, and you can pay with foreign cards here.

Problems with the tour reggarding transportation but solved in time. The room was not the cleanest we have been and neither the bathroom and also the towells had some stains on them

There is no sheet left to cover yourself, there was just a duvet without a cover, which doesn't look very hygienic. The towels were very old, I believe this problem is simple to solve.

Hotel in a quiet location, friendly staff, good sized and comfortable room. We missed hooks to hang clothes. The hotel's restaurant is fantastic and very convenient, affordable prices and delicious freshly prepared food. We liked this place so much that we decided to extend our stay for another 2 days. A great place to rest after visiting Ijen. We booked the Tour to Mont Bromo with them and everything was incredible, we recommend it!

my only little thing is that some guy comes around and starts cleaning your outside windows at about 7am which woke me on both days as it sounded like someone was trying to get into the room, it was a bit weird but harmless. I dont think he should be doing that so early though. perhaps after 8am in future please. I am however a light sleeper so anyone without such issues would probably sleep right through it.

The staff were all very nice and friendly. It offered good value, Breakfast is included on some of the room rates. I used it as a base for Bromo tour but the weather let me down so I just relaxed here instead.

We had some trouble with the flushing of the toilet bowl. Didn't raise it to the staff because it was just a short stay and we could make do with it.

The service from the staff was great with free shuttle to and fro from the train station. We even asked for a Bromo tour which was reasonably priced. We booked the Madrakaripura tour but couldn't make it in time for the train. Thankfully they agreed to refund the amount to us 🙏🏻 There was also food at the homestay which tasted great too. Overall, it was a great stay and would definitely come back again if I visit Probolinggo

AC doesn’t work properly, it was very warm in the room. Water pressure when many people use bathroom at same time is horrible.

There is not much to do in Probolinggo itself, not many places to eat out either so take that into account when you stay here. Unfortunately we also had a misunderstanding with one of the hosts to word it nicely, where the host first announced to us that a taxi to our next destination was included in the Bromo excursion price. We reacted a bit surprised but he guaranteed multiple times there would be no extra costs. We accepted the offer gladly of course. Later he changed his mind and said we had to pay 1.4m rp extra on top of what we had paid already. We looked up on Grab (local Uber) and there it was only 700k. We told this to the host and he said it was because of the offline costs we would have to pay on top of the 700k. We ended up taking the Grab and no offline costs were ever charged to us. Felt a bit like a scam, but since many taxi’s tried to scam us in the area, we don’t take it personal.

I would certainly recommend to do the excursions from within the hostel, we did tempak sewu and bromo. Both were arranged nicely. It is cosy outside and the room is really good in terms of value for money.

The aircon in our room was not very powerful but it took the edge off the heat

The bed was super comfy. The free breakfast was great and the prices for other menu food so cheap! The kitchen they use is was very cute, open and clean. Clover homestay had the cleanest bathroom we have had so far in all of Indonesia!
