the preparations at check in weren’t the best, we had already communicated all our needs prior but it seems that it either never reached them or the hotel was still managing check ins and outs

The room is smaller compared to other hotels on my trip around the island, but was the most expensive. At low tide you can’t swim at the beach.

room cleaning was average they forgot to do things, some white wine ran out , not a lot of variety in beer at all, toya bbq food was served cold/warm not just cooked temp, no one went through areas of interest to visit in Nusa dua which I didn’t understand that at all, no wonder night markets just down the road were quiet and the restaurants and divers offer pick up and return taxi from there , it’s a gated community support the locals

The hotel needs an update, the room smelled like mould and the bottom of the shower tiles had mould coming out when the water was on. The edges of the lagoon river have mould all over them. Given the size of the hotel it would be hard to keep up with the maintenance but the price tag suggests that it should be. The restaurants on premises are pricey but that is standard for Nusa Dua and Sofitel. We were not treated well at Cucina because of the way we look but the food was amazing. We used our own drivers as the prices were high through Sofitel. The ATM also had a better rate for money exchange then the money changer. We took a walk along the beach one night and found the atmosphere to be much nicer at some of the other neighbouring hotels, live music, dancing, beach dinners and will likely stay there next time.

It is a beautiful and grand hotel, albeit it very dated. The buffet breakfast is unparalleled and definitely worth adding on. Most of the staff were so lovely. The pool is gorgeous, always the right temperature and the swim up bar is great. The room was kept clean and turndown service was nice.

You might want to consider anti slippery mats around the shower and bathroom.

We had a fantastic family holiday. The rooms and facilities have met our expectations. All the rooms are quite big and up to date. The facilities are well maintained and provide access to all the guests. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we ever had travelling SE Asia. We will be definitely coming back.
