Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCan't fault it
We stayed in the largest villa (Villa Singa). This place is insanely good. Two story house with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. Lots of hangout spaces.around the villa, separate bathroom for each bedroom and gigantic pool. The food was top notch and we loved the spa for daily massages. The staff were totally accommodating and organised a great snorkelling trip for us to Menjangan Island (best snorkelling I've ever experienced).Loved it all!

United Kingdomthe wi-fi had issues, it took longer to resolve than it should have. Did not like the restaurant manager, we were served with a corked bottle of wine and the manager argued that it was fine instead of resolving the complaint quickly and professionally.
views, privacy, cleanliness, service, very luxurious villa.

United Kingdomunfortunately only one of the two restaurants were open, I assume due to reduced customer numbers during covid. the tracks can also be a bit steep/dangerous on a scooter, although the hotel offers a golf buggy service to transport you around the resort if you’re prepared to wait a bit for it to pick you up
beautiful views, very clean, lovely staff, great location, beautiful spa, amazing pool

RussiaWe like everything except the noise from the village below (loud music, scream of people, barking dogs.)
The view is spectacular! Pool is nice and clean. Area around the pool looks a bit poor (no shower, toilet, bar).

Russia— I have really nothing to say here.
Everything is beyond expectations! I spent my Birthday here and it was 100% worth it. The only difficulty was to find the best villa hahah (because these guys have like 40 options))) but I did it good and chose Villa Murai which I totally recommend, the view is amazing, the materials of the repair are so high-quality and the design... well everything in this villa was mind-blowing: the pool and the bed, I would love to live there! As for the whole retreat: the restaurant with amazing food like in Canggu, the massage is nice, the ambiance in general, the service and the staff — we enjoyed all of it. And also I highly recommend to do sunrise trekking, snorkelling and canoe trip — you can just address the staff and they would organise everything.

IndonesiaThe distance from the Bali airport was far. We arrived at midnight. If I had to do it again, I would recommend getting to Bali earlier in the day so that you can enjoy the scenery.
The breakfast options were plentiful. I recommend trying the different dishes and smoothies to start your day. We enjoyed the crepes and French toast. After we realized how close we were to Mt Ijen, I would have stayed a extra couple more days to visit it.

Hong KongThe villa can get a bit hot during the day so if you are spending time indoors which we rarely did, you might need to use the AC - but other than that it was perfect.
We stayed in Villa Julielele with our 2 dogs and were blown away but the beautiful volcano sunset views from the pool and living area. The villa is surrounded by lots of grass and trees allowing for privacy and room for the dogs to roam. We loved the pool that over looks the valley and volcanos and especially the swinging day bed which was great for morning naps after our morning hikes to watch sunrise with the dogs - the trail is easily accessible from the villa and only takes about 30-45mins to reach the top for an amazing view on sunrise. The food from Suma restaurant is also delicious with plenty of choice and daily specials to choose from.

RussiaWhen I arrived there was no hot water in the shower, it took 3+ hours to fix it, no one even apologised. Rude staff. There were red flags from the beginning but I thought maybe they were just accidental one-time misunderstandings, extended for one more night to check, but it just got worse. Initially I was planning to stay for 2-3 weeks but left after 2 nights. Wooden benches at the swimming pool ruined my bikini as they're not polished, just rough wood. No privacy. Staff was passing my villa frequently although it was meant to be private and there was no road there. They explained that this was a short cut - through the bushes in front of my villa.. Communication via whatsapp was annoying. Especially as it wasn't just one-way communication as it is always. I received promotions and early morning unnecessary messages from staff..
Food via rooms service was nice (some positions were weird though - for example they have classic breakfast eggs+bread with jam\butter but you should choose between jam and butter - you can't have both as usual (why? I mean make it a bit more expensive but give both, this is classic for a reason..), and to get both they offered me to buy an extra dish which is bread+jam\butter..

SingaporeWe must have been unlucky but we ended up in a villa where next door some renovation was happening - from 7am, circle saws and hammering. After a lot of complaining by 10am or smth the workers paused for a while, then resumed later in the day (perhaps they assumed we were out or smth, unsure) Our villa was also next to a temporary residence for construction workers so we had quite some coming and going of quite noisy scooters. I explored the gym, which again has spectacular views but has basic equipment. Any gym buff can get by with the few weights for a bit but likely will need to shift focus to flexibility or power yoga, own weight exercises… or boxing - great selection of boxing bags. There are many places in the resort where construction has started but seems stalled or paused. There were, apart from the building next to us, 2 more places where carpenters were doing woodwork with electric saws, Something we saw on our morning walk. We got treated to a back massage (courteously offered by the hotel) in a quite large spa. The massage was decent enough, but regretfully interrupted a few times by loud noises: a hard slamming door, some metal thing that dropped. We had good food in the Senja (local) restaurant and decent food in the Suma (western). Prices are high for what in other areas of Bali would be considered fairly average. the staff are nice and try to help (well - they were apologetic when we raised concerns) and while I feel the place has a lot of potential, there are too many small things that really don’t meet the bar for the price we paid. For a retreat, peace and quiet seems a given and between scooters and construction, for us that was hard to find. Pity - as the view was truly spectacular.
The villa and environment is absolutely stunning. Villa : superb design, beautiful materials, tasteful decorations, equipment working well, stocked fridge, beautiful & comfortable beds, pretty bathrooms, really awesome pool, lovely garden with many flowers and the view is breathtaking. The lobby is a great design and again very tastefully done up, with art on display and a clean industrial look. The 2 common pools are stunning & at night, it is great to watch the stars from the roof of the main building. This hotel has a good selection of drinks - different beers, wines and so on.

SpainThe villa has an open air concept, so you need to live with animals like geckos, frogs & all sorts of insects in the room. the bedroom in theory is a closed room but the glass doors do not close off the room fully, so you will have the same animals in your bedroom as well. the hotel offers shuttle service on their premise as everything is a bit scattered. which was a bit to complicated for our taste to just get to the restaurants etc and the area in general is very remote.
Stayed in Villa Felix: Very instagramable and stylish room! Nice view, cool pool & nice little outdoor gym. comfortable bed.

AustraliaSometimes I felt as though I was inside a big corporation and the poor house-keeping staff and staff at the restaurants appeared to be not trained by mangaement well, however they were always very sweet and kind and tried their very best. A big storm wooshed in one afternoon and the desk where my laptop and documents were sitting became wet fast. My laptop is ok but some important documents are ruined. I am glad I was inside the room when it happened.
The views were spectacular. I could see the volcano in Java, Sumberkima Bay and along the way to Lovina. It is very very beautiful and there is a a lovely table and a gigantic day bed on the deck to relax and watch the day go by. All of the staff are very friendly, welcoming, charming and warm. I hope they are paid well. The breakfast of bread, butter, eggs, proscuitto, ham and cheese were glorious! I enjoyed the room service pizza too - yummy. There is a shuttle so you can go to the nearby supermarket which is handy. I loved the infinity pool - it was incredible!!!

United StatesThere was a high tension tower and lines 20 feet from my bungalow. Much of the resort is under construction so it’s noisy and disruptive. Bulldozers we’re right next to the pool. Gardeners were around my bungalow smoking while I was sitting outside. I wanted a guide to go hiking but I’m a solo traveler and they have a two person minimum!
The bed was comfortable and the sheets were lovely. I loved the outside bathroom. I also liked having an electric kettle.
