Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe cabin become very hot so we had to close all the windows and doors and lost our view if we wanted to stay cool inside aircon. The flooring entering the bathroom needs fixing. Dangerous under foot. We seem to get bitten even with doors and windows closed and mosquitos net down. fly screens would help a lot and on windows or doors. We were unimpressed about being charged $5 for accidentally breaking a simple small water glass. ( I have trouble with my hands)
The facilities were great. The view from kesambi 1 was excellent. Sunsets and water views. Bathroom was fun. We got around on our own scooter. The shuttle seems handy though. As property is very large. Loved being intermingled with village people. Very friendly.

AustraliaYou can’t walk from your villa to all the amenties and the road to the village is very narrow and not in very good condition, so we were relying on the shuttle or taxis.

IndonesiaWe share the place with locals and during new year they were lit loud firecracker. Quite stressed for the dogs but the kids and us enjoyed it. No big problem.
The room, the view, the pool (we tried the common pool next to our room which is a mini infinity pool with layover deck and the lingga pool which require shuttle), the food and the staff are AMAZING. They provide towels for shower and swim. They allowed me to bring my two dogs along. We regret that we did not come earlier and unable to extend since we need to go back to Jakarta

MalaysiaIt was the small little things that would make a difference between good and excellent. For example, I wish that there was: 1. Floor mats for the bathrooms. 2. Disposal shower caps. 3. House slippers.
The Sumberkima team is wonderfully responsive. I also had a wonderful healing massage at the spa that really help me unwind. Serti my masseuse was excellent.

Germany1. Sometimes the smell in the bathroom of Luwih 1 was bad - I'd say typically Bali... 2. The gym could be better - maths there were really dirty
The view from the top of the hill to both sides is amazing! I also liked the breakfast and the massage with this really special view. The gardens everywhere are also super beautiful. All in all it's really a good place to chill and relax.

If you are looking to explore the northeast of Bali there’s no better place then Sumberkima Hill. It will exceed all your expectations. The rooms are spacious and the beds are great. Outdoor shower and a bathtub with views on volcanos and valleys. Staff is incredibly friendly. It’s a the best place in Bali to get away from the crowds and enjoy the peace and nature. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely come back.

ChinaBy the way I think the food is not so well, don’t order fish.
It is a long distance from airport, it took me 5 hours to get there. The resort located in the mountain, there is a 3km distance to the beach or the village, you could go to the beach only by private car and the resort will help you to reserve it (go to the beach is not free, the charge is IDR 50000 one way).it is so difficult to go outside by foot. Well the star is so beautiful in the night and you could enjoy a quiet holiday. All the staff is quite friendly. Thank all the staff, you are the most lovely people.

GermanyUnfortunately, construction is going on almost everywhere at the moment and there is nothing worse than starting the day with construction noise. But we were also unlucky because the construction site was right next to us. The tours offered are top or flop. Some not at all to use and even if they were free would be too expensive. But others are very good. But the retreat has to offer something to the guests. They do that well, even if many things could be better. Longer than 5-7 days I would not recommend, because the choice in the restaurants becomes boring at some point, especially for non-vegetarians!!! During the rainy season it is of course much greener and more splendid but then it rains continuously.
We were in Villa El Nido for 7 days and it was absolutely gorgeous and exactly like the photos. With all villas you have to be clear about the following points: 1. it is an open concept, so there will be critters in the bathroom! 2. the retreat is very, very remote and you have virtually no chance of getting anywhere unless you rent a scooter and drive in life-threatening traffic. There is hardly any other chance than to eat in one of the three restaurants! There is a free shuttle for that. Nevertheless it is an absolutely perfect place to switch off and really start from scratch.

We stayed at the incredible Murai villa. 4 days of pure bliss. We opted to stay here instead of Ubud and other parts of Bali. The restaurants in the retreat are both amazing. The staff are exceptionally kind and attentive. The retreat is able to set up scuba diving and other fun activities, if you choose do so such things. The private pool in the Villa itself is situated perfectly under the sun’s path with amazing views of the ocean and the volcano. I highly recommend Sumberkima Hill Retreat. It may be far from the airport or other parts of Bali, but it is absolutely worth it.

SpainThe gym is very modest. The area in August is very dry and the vegetation is very different from the pictures used to advertise the property. Other than that, the resort fulfilled our expectations.
We stayed in Villa Asmara. Great Villa, stylish and with great view of the bay area. Personnel was super attentive and responsive to our needs. The food in the Suma restaurant was very good and not expensive. We did not try the other restaurant.

AustraliaThere were no bedside lights on each side of the bed so the main Villa lights had to be on when reading. All experiences were designed for couples or families so they were much more expensive for singles.
