Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandLovely family run guesthouse in a quit village a short way from Ubud. The water filter was great as it saved us from buying plastic bottles. The local village was quiet and got more scenic as you walked away from Ubud. The family were friendly and helpful and the terrace and garden were lovely.

AustraliaThe bathroom was leaking and had a smell, but we told them and they fixed it! It was also quite warm, but the fan helped a lot.
The breakfast was so good! You can tell they put a lot of care into it. We really enjoyed it.

SpainI think for this price, there is nothing to improve. The room is standard and practical. No decoration or anything to make it cosy. But it is functional.
During the booking process, I asked for a room on the upper floors (there are 3) because I like a lot of light and it was granted. Beds are comfy, staff is friendly, and breakfast is better than standard.

IndiaTV was not there. Room Light could have been more which created little problem at night to read something at night. Since there was no TV for entertaining myself. There was no white LED light at room. It was warm yellowish light in room. It is bit far from UBUD Central and it is located in village side. Need car to reach to UBUD central. UBUD Central area is almost 3km away from the Guest house. Room whole for ventilation was in accessible area which can create prob for individual's privacy.
Room was spacious, clean, bathroom was big and clean. Towel was available. Beds was comfortable. Furniture was there to keep the cloths . Staff's behavior was good. Good Breakfast ( Tea/ Coffee, Sandwich, watermelon ) were available. Room rent was also cheap.

United StatesWhen we arrived, it was not clear how to check in or with whom, as no one was at the check-in desk and we did not see clear directions as to how to find someone. Power outlets are so deep in the wall that our charging cords with adapters would not stay in unless we propped them up against the outlet with another object. The bathroom was smelly, but that seems to be common in budget Ubud accommodations (I think it is something in the plumbing water?). A better curtain and a bath mat to keep shower water in the shower area would be helpful. The lighting in the bedroom was harsh. We switched to another guesthouse in Ubud after this to be closer (walking distance) to town.
Included breakfast service on the terrace was appreciated. The bed was sufficiently comfortable, and we were able to keep the room comfortably cool using the powerful ceiling fan. The hosts were helpful in finding us taxi service on our departure and offering recommendations for local attractions and pharmacy.

SloveniaI had a room downgrade, a situation that seemed to be a common practice here and left a negative impression. The inconvenience of the change wasn't compensated adequately, despite negotiations; they offered only one free pancake. It was only for one night, then they moved us to bigger room, first night we were charged for smaller room. In the larger room, the toilet and shower were dirty and smelled bed.
The breakfast delivered to our room was excellent, and the surroundings were beautiful, especially in the larger room that overlooked nature. It was great value for money.

United KingdomWithout a bike it was a bit hard to get around, with this homestay being on top of a hill in a little village. I’d definitely recommend renting one if you’re going to be staying here.
Staff here were incredible! Breakfast every morning was also delicious. Room was a lot bigger than we thought, had a nice big bathroom and good shower. Free water also provided. Loved having our own little balcony out front, with a lovely view over the village. Thank you!

AustraliaThe property is not far from Ubud -but because Ubud traffic is so bad-it will take @ 20 minutes to get to Ubud centre-so you will need to book taxi/car.
The staff are absolutely wonderful - so kind & helpful. The banana pancakes for breakfast are superb. The facilities are comfortable and wi-fi is great. If you’re on a budget - it is excellent value.

SpainOnly one downside: location. If you stay here, make sure you have your own vehicle or use Grab/Gojek/etc. The walk to the center of Ubud is surprisingly 'exciting' :D but other than that, a nice accommodation!
Nice room, comfortable, friendly staff, affordable price, good breakfast. Pretty nice accommodation for the price you pay.

United KingdomThe staff at Wijaya guest house were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious one of the best I've eaten in Ubud! There is a seating area downstairs where you can have your breakfast or if you like they can bring breakfast up to your room and you can eat on your balcony surrounded by the jungle. It's set a bit further away from the main street but we were able to hire a bike from them which we used loads to get around. They also helped book a trip for us up Batur mountain. They have a super friendly dog there too. The room was really spacious, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place for a comfortable and really reasonable priced place to stay

United KingdomThe lock on my door was extremely difficult to use and I spent a lot of time wrestling with it and I had to get assistance. The parking area for my scooter was very uneven with a hole which my foot went into and I ended up losing control of the scooter and crashed into the wall, if these two issues were resolved then it would be a much better place to stay
The staff were friendly and helpful, it was very good value for money. breakfast was good

United KingdomThere isn’t anything I didn’t like as we both fully enjoyed our stay.
The staff were lovely, welcoming and very helpful. It is a location just outside the hustle and bustle of Ubud if you rent a moped (which the staff kindly organised for us to rent for a good price). The breakfast was delicious, the best banana pancakes or omelette sandwich, fruit and coffee delivered to your room! The Wi-Fi is good, hot showers, a very effective fan, comfy bed and a lovely balcony to enjoy breakfast with a view.
