We had a wonderful time staying at Kilcar Lodge! Really nice and cosy rooms with the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in for a long time!! The host is so friendly and made us a huge vegetarian breakfast in the morning. The location is perfect, even though it’s located directly on the road it’s quiet at night!

    Nothing!

The location was perfect for us. The lodge is right next to a gorgeous river. Teresa couldn’t have done any more for us. Beautiful rooms, the photos don’t do them justice. Excellent power showers too.

No dinner options in town other than take-away, so you have to drive. Payment is cash only

Traditional B&B located on the main road, private parking. Bright and friendly room with a walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom. Tasty Irish breakfast is served in the morning.

Perfect location for Sliabg Liag, just a few minutes' drive away. Clean and recommended.

Not a lot. I stayed here to go to Sliabh Liag, and in that respect it was perfect. The view from my room was just overlooking the car park, but that's a small niggle that didn't really impact anything, in an otherwise very recommended B&B.

Greeted with a very warm welcome. The room was a decent size, and the bathroom was a good size. Kilcar Lodge was very clean. Only a 15 minute drive or so to get to Sliabh Liag, so perfectly located for a day or two exploring the area. As a side note away from the property, if you have time I recommend a boat tour around the cliffs, as well as going to the viewing platform - you get a whole different perspective of the cliffside. I hadn't read the Booking.com info properly in advance, and hadn't realised it was cash payments only (not a problem as there are no shortages of ATMs not far away) but a handy reminder the day before meant I wasn't rushing around to get cash. There's a small car park which always had space, but if not or you're in a bigger car, then there's plenty of on-street parking just in front of the property. I didn't get the breakfast so can't comment on that.

They only accept payments in cash. Breakfast is not included in the price.

The room was very nice and clean. There was a comfortable double bed, a table with a chair and a toilet. There were also blankets and towels and everything worked properly but the flush, which was difficult to use. Also, there was no noise, it was a calm place. There is a parking place. We arrived quite late and there was no problem.

We found a great traditional Irish music session at a pub right around the corner, when we had feared that we would have to travel Donegal for a session. And the room was great!

Great home away from home - cleanest B&B I’ve ever been to! Teresa, the hostess, really goes above and beyond to make sure her guests are comfortable! Kilcar Lodge is around the corner from the bus stop and handy enough to get to spots like Muckross Beach, Carrick and Killybegs (we didn’t have a car and things were a bit more complicated, so drive if you can)

As I didn’t have a car it was a little far out from Killybegs but if you have a car I can’t recommend staying here enough.

The property was very comfortable and super clean. The shower a particularly good size and powerful.

Close to a little river which is very nice but can also be a little noisy

Great room and bathroom, absolutely spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with lots of space for putting away your things. The B&B is located in the center of the village, very close to the bus stop and to all the hiking trails. Theresa is very welcoming and prepares a very nice full Irish breakfast every day which gives you plenty of energy to go discover this beautiful region. Kilcar is nice, and although there is no restaurant there is a take away place and a mini markt for basic things. Plus there are three nice pubs! One of the best place we have been to during our stay in Ireland, we definitely recommend!
