There were a few ants and spiders in the room. Minor overall but the only real detractor.

It’s positioned in an ideal spot amongst the city palace, and had beautiful views of the lake and surroundings. The staff were exceptionally accomodating and went out of their way to make the stay comfortable.

We did have to leave the property to withdraw cash. It would be nice if they had an atm on property since we used so much cash during our visit! But that’s very minor.

You really feel like royalty in this property as it’s attached to the maharana’s current home. The staff is so phenomenal they make the beautiful setting even more special. Pooja, the concierge, was so kind to us and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and activities.

Taj Fateh Prakash has an excellent location, within easy walking distance to Udaipur city center. It is also a beautiful hotel and our room was wonderful. But coming from Taj Lake Palace after two nights stay there, the step down in attention to the guests was surprising. This difference was there even before we showed up. We had to write to concierge times before receiving a response, which is frustrating when one is abroad and trying plan a multi-component trip. Even at the property, the staff is polite and deferential but generally lackadaisical (they do not return requested information and have to be asked repeatedly) much less anticipate guests’ needs. One person, Pooja at reception, however, deserves special mention because she was truly exceptional (even by Lake Palace standards) and engaged with the guests brilliantly. She was friendly, kind, super helpful and very much in-tune with the needs of international clientele. I am especially grateful to Pooja (and her team) for going the extra mile to make my wife’s birthday special. Having said all that, I would also like to note that we were there over Holi (2024) and the staff and hotel manager who had organized the celebration at the hotel did a bang up job. The event was fabulous and fun!! One request: don’t actively discourage guests from going into town for Holi. Have good current information and sound advice available and let the guests make the decision. The fact that nobody knew when Holika Dahan would take place was huge surprise and weren’t very enthusiastic about finding out disappointing. Again, we are truly grateful to Pooja was immediate getting the information and making it possible for us to enjoy the experience we came to Udaipur for. Same with the day of… We truly enjoyed going into town (early in the morning) and then continuing the celebrations at the hotel. Both were special but in very different ways.

I felt the service around the pool area could have been better. A number of times in the evening, we had to look for someone to bring us drinks, etc. Also, the pool area was left untidy for long periods of time with no one picking up towels or cleaning up after the guests had left.

The staff, especially Bhagirath were exceptional. Bhagirath left no stone unturned to make us feel as honored guests - that made our stay amazing. Thank you, Bhagirath.

There is nothing to not like.

Great location, inside the city palace complex! The staff at Taj Fateh Prakash is simply awesome, Rajasthan hospitality at its best! Right from the check in we were treated as royals. Santosh at reception gave us a lake view room and made the check in process very smooth. Rest of the staff including Naval, Ramesh, Gourav, Monisha, Pooja and Sandeep they all made sure we had a wonderful stay. Food was absolutely delicious and they were always willing to customize it in spite of having a wide spread of items in the buffet! They also had golf carts at the property which was very convenient for transportation to city palace museum and boat rides.

The attention of housekeeping staff could be viewed as intrusive as opposed to helpful, with constant knocking on the room door for unnecessary reasons. A hotel pool is used frequently by us… this pool overlooks Lake Pichola, a stunning backdrop, and use was restricted by private functions on its terrace. The use of the sister hotel’s pool was offered, but when requested did not materialise.

A heavenly experience. Absolutely stunning hotel inside and out. Our lake view room was amazing, we kept the curtains open, and woke up to stunning sun rises. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom luxurious, evening soaks in the luxurious jacuzzi bath were heaven. Staff were polite, helpful and attentive in all areas of the hotel. The food at breakfast was good. Evening meals in the restaurant were so good -compliments to the chef!! Being next to the real palace was the icing on the cake. We loved this hotel, and Udaipur, when we return in the future there will no hesitation in rebooking.

The Hotel is located just on the bank of the lake. They give you security pass which allows you to go at most of the places in Palace without any ticket. Their Buggee drop and pickup is very efficient. I would like to pass my thanks to Pooja on the reception desk as she was very helpful and guided us to plan site seeing locations.

Rather lacks a central focus with a view of the lake. The pool is to one side and service is very slow. The Sun Terrace and restaurant to the other. Two of our three days by the pool were disturbed by arrangements for a lunch for an outside party.
