Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAt times the hotel went from freezing cold to stuffy. The background music featuring saxophone tracks from the 80’s was too loud and frightfully annoying. Play some classical Indian music. On arrival the staff should point out location of pools, facilities etc
Good location. Great rooms and good pool.

Hong KongOur stay was too short haha
We were so lucky to attend the Holi celebration party which was eye opening and great fun. We only stayed there for one night, breakfast and dinner were super good. A housekeeping staff even took us to the roof top to view Taj Majah there.

AustraliaFood was overpriced. Some restaurant staff seemed to be overly trying to impress to get tips, which was annoying.
A comfortable hotel close to sightseeing locations. Restaurants had really nice food.

United KingdomThe spa & pool were closed so just one other pool area which was quite basic. Staff were unable to assist us with our onward travel plans by train.
Not quite a 5 star but that was purely due to the exterior which was a little less grand than the inside. The suite we got was outstanding for the price, we could not have asked for better!

BelgiumStaff was not superfriendly. I feel like I expected more for what we paid for. Didn’t feel very welcome. Shower didn’t drain well and there was a leak under the sink. A waitress had to wear shoes that are too large for here and she was clearly uncomfortable, give the girl some fitting shoes, please. Waiter was incredibly rude to me, only wanted to talk to my boyfriend.
Supercomfy bed, room was so quiet, it was a relief. Room was clean and food was good. Fruit and raw vegetables seem to be safe here. Hotel looks fancy

United StatesThe room!! Poor AC in the room. It never cooled. Had asked for two beds room. We were given two double sized beds - for a 5 star property and price!! We never could sleep properly (: On top our room was located a long walk away from the gym, spa etc. No lifts in the entirely property at all.
Staff was wonderful. Restaurants served excellent food. Very quite and nice overall ambience

United StatesHad a spa treatment and the room was quite cold.
Had a very "basic" room due to the booking. We were tucked into an area without the luxurious touches. Could see other parts of the hotel that were quite luxurious. Make sure you find the viewing area outside to see the Taj. It wasn't mentioned until a friendly housekeeper asked if I had seen it.

AustraliaVery big hotel resort, quite needed some renovation on outdoors. A lot of security controls when you just want to go to see the small stores near entrance and back.
Spacious room, and the hotel accommodated for an early check in as we arrived earlier than expected. Not far from Taj Mahal however cannot go by walk.

ThailandThe lighting in the room was a frustration: it was either floodlight (all the lights came on together) or a single halogen light about the bed. I mentioned this to the management and they acknowledged the comment. There is a nice indirect light source around the ceiling. It would be nice if that light could be activated without the strong halogen lights nearby, which defeat the purpose of soft light. Wifi was a bit patchy. There was good bandwidth, but it kept fading on my laptop, but no problem on the phone. (Could be a network software issue on my part, but the problem didn't happen at an Aerocity hotel.) There was also quite a bit of maintenance on the wifi on two days, with assurances of 'ten minutes' until return. One other tiny gripe: I didn't like the bed quilt system. It was covered with two sheets, which invariably separated from the quilt during the night. I would have preferred a single piece quilt cover.
The staff were very good. Check in was prompt and personalised. The breakfast staff were attentive and usually delivered what I requested. Housekeeping was prompt and courteous. Check out was effortless. The room was spacious and cosy with a garden view. One day there was a function held there, but that only lasted a few hours. Otherwise quiet. Bed was comfortable. Location was good; easy distance to the Taj by taxi, plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was good. There was plenty of variety and good eggs-to-order. Hotel decoration was glamorous and always welcoming to return after a day of sight seeing.
