Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe food part, spread was very limited.
The property is aesthetically decorated. It gives a cozy yet tranquil vibe. The breakfast spread was not grand but manageable. The best part was if the terrace and the restaurant area which had beautifully done seating arrangements beside Lake Pichola. Overall we enjoyed the stay. Would love to book this hotel again in our next trip to Udaipur.

AustraliaRooms aren't overly big but the location, staff, ambiance outweighs the room size.
The Palace is exceptional. Enjoyed our stay and grateful to end our travels in such amazing accommodation. The staff are helpful and courteous. There are many different areas to sit and enjoy the view. The roof top restaurant and pool is beautiful. Make sure you book your table on the roof top.

United KingdomBreakfast was limited and the food was not kept warm/hot. There was no supervision to restock food which had run low. Managers were rude and unfriendly. The main restaurant manager was rude unnecessarily so. When we requested cleaning of our room after a couple of days of our arrival the hotel waited until we had returned from our day out and only then was the room cleaned very quickly in the hope of a tip. Of course items were missed and not restocked which i had to resolve with front desk. We didn’t bother with room cleaning again. I just went to the Front Desk. The filtered water had to be requested via the front desk. One of the “boys” would bring it in the hope of a tip. So again we didn’t bother either using our bottles of water or going to get the water ourselves. Cleaning of rooms and provision of water are basic requirements. We left a tip at Front Desk for all of the other staff who had been very helpful and provided good hospitable service during our stay.
The Hotel is lake facing with wonderful views. The hotel is in the old town so cars cannot get to the hotel and you will need to organise an auto rickshaw which the hotel will provide. Front of house were very efficient and friendly and dealt with all our queries quickly and professionally. A special mention to Mr Jain on the travel desk who was extremely helpful in organising a guide and then onward travel for us. Our room was non-lake facing but was very comfortable, cozy, with a modern bathroom. Filtered water and tea and coffee etc with a kettle are provided. The hotel has a rooftop terrace for evening meals and the food was good and relatively reasonable. The Terrace was very dark which made eating difficult and we opted to eat where we have breakfast finally which was much better. We used the pool and spent one day just lazing in the hotel after a few frenetic weeks of travelling. Because we organised our onward travel with the hotel we were taken by boat to our waiting taxi which was a very nice touch. Despite the things we didn’t like about the hotel we had a very nice and relaxing stay.below on the things we didn’t like these were just irritating and a little inconvenient but by ignoring them we simply got on with enjoying our stay. This a charming heritage property with a lovely ambiance which is very peaceful.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and is right on the lake. We had a lovely room with the lake view. Staff at the hotel is amazing! Main attractions are very close to the hotel. Restaurants offered beautiful views and tasty food. There is a travel agency and currency exchange next door. We loved our stay and highly recommend it!

SwedenI wouldnt say there's anything i disliked, however the only SMALL downside is that it is a tourist attraction in itself, meaning that there's always non-residents around taking photos. But that's more a testament to the niceness of the place than anything else .
the breakfast was absolutely amazing! and they changed parts of it every day. the rooms tidy and spotless and the staff always nice. The location also great.

United KingdomThe entrance to the hotel is a bit underwhelming. Just a passage way between shops.
Jagat Niwas Palace October 2023 Beautiful Hotel on the Lakeside overlooking the Taj Palice, which is in the centre of the lake. It has a good restaurant on the roof terrace and on the floor below. Beautiful views at sunset from the terrace restaurant. The food was excellent and well presented. The staff were all very helpful and caring. There are lake facing rooms and garden facing rooms. The former are about £100 per night extra. We stayed in the garden facing room which is basically overlooking the corridor, which in turn overlooks the central courtyard. This was perfectly satisfactory as you could view the lake from the terrace if you wanted. We stayed an extra night. As there was not any availability left for our room, we were offered a cheaper room at £60 per night. These have only just been completed at the time of this review. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and finish. They opened onto a back stairwell to both the terrace and/or reception. A stained glass window opened over a back area. Perfectly acceptable. It was modern and opulent, well worth the £60. There was another room on the ground floor ,I think, that we refused. It was tucked underneath near the ground floor stairs and which the small window overlooked. Not facing the courtyard. The streets nearby seemed safe with small shops selling everything. There are plenty of tuck tucks outside which will give you an hour long tour for about £2. to £3. Very enjoyable stay. Breakfast Included. Colin and Ann touring India and Sri Lanka from England

There won't be a better place to stay in Udaipur. Yes, it is expensive for India, but if you want that little bit of luxury in a gorgeous setting with views over the lake, great food, fantastic service, friendly and helpful staff, 5 min walk to the Palace gates, and frankly a get away from it all vibe this is the place for you. It is very very lovely boutique.

IrelandThe fact that we had to leave! Only one tiny issue that the half bottle of red wine we saved for a second night had been put in the fridge.
We were enchanted by the architecture & decor of the hotel & were charmed by our spacious lake view room with irresistible window seat enticing us to lie back & imbibe the beauty of the view. The large bed was very comfortable & the shower spacious & well equipped. We enjoyed the breakfast area & romantic rooftop restaurant with stunning views. The breadth & standard of the menu we found excellent & and every member of staff was kind & attentive.

United StatesWe didn’t get a one view room and it was basically a windowless room. Stayed on first floor and there were 2 small windows they faced the other room so no natural lighting. Breakfast could be improved and they run low on food before breakfast ends.
Location was great and overall decor and heritage design of the hotel. Beautiful lake views from the restaurant and rooftop.
