The entrance is very hard to find (but they sent good directions - would be impossible to find without) and is quite unpleasant. The property itself is basic but fine. The single room I had was tiny and only had partial dividers with the other rooms so it was almost like being in a dorm. But for the price it's decent.

The hostel is hard to find in the middle of Crawford market and you have to take several flights of stairs before reaching the hostel. The shared washroom arrangements were not sanitary at all, taking a bath was very uncomfortable.

The hostel has a great location and the rustic interior design was charming.

Definitely can not recommend it for travelers who are not familiar with India yet. No western bathrooms available and the entrance to the building is really terrifying. Also, there’s no WiFi in the top floor. You can expect many Indian workers living in the dorms and very few travelers (westerners)

If this is your first stop in India you might need to get used to bucket showers, squad toilets and the hidden entrance to the property.

Perhaps the most authentic place we stayed in India. It‘s located on the 3rd floor of an old heritage building, with beautiful vintage details. It‘s basic accommodation but clean and the stuff were very friendly and helpful. Good location as well, with proximity to the beautiful CSMT station and Crowford market. Definitely good value for money.

The room walls don’t go up to the ceiling, so you can hear your neighbor as if he was next to you. No internet in the rooms, you have to go on the lower floor in a common room. The purpose is to have guests interact, according to the owner.

The bathrooms need to be much better cleaned. Some of the soaps and rubbish in there had been there for a long time. We were disappointed to find that our laundry which we had washed by the hostel had been damaged. Colours were changed and someone had written numbers with a pen on our clothes.

Location was great. The old charm of the hostel is lovely.

The entrance to the hostel ! Easier to miss it. And being very old building, not maintained.

Lovely property in 3rd floor - very well maintained 70year old house - with a vintage feel. The host and staff were very supportive and helpful. Its a basic accommodation - so best to go with that exception. The location is fantastic. Right next to Crawford Market and on main road - hence logistically very accessible to other locations. Everything is within walking distance. Best for backpackers and those who are out most part of the day.

During my stay the my did a shooting for a movie/sth and they didn’t offer a proper space for the guest to use to do the basic (shower/tooth brush).

Well there was no bed sheets execpt for pillow which was dirty. The matress is hard as old goat's cheese and it smelled.

This is as rustic as you can get. I liked the interior of the place and the location. Quick way to get to CSMT.

The entrance and the stairs to the 4:th floor definitely needs a pretty serious renovation.... And bring your earplugs as usual, the upper part of the walls is a net made of wood. It's part of the old ac system from 100years back, we appreciate the fresh air flowing through the room.

The kept the old colonial style in a really nice manner. And the location is also very good.

There is no shower. Need to take a shower while collecting water from the tap. And it does smell like pee in rooms.

1. The room was too dark (an additional lamp is needed). 2. More hangers need to be installed in the shower. 3. A bigger sign is needed on the facade of the house to make it easier to find the entrance.
