Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaThin walls in the room, can be noisy in the night. Not a fancy room, just basic a bit cold for my girlfriend in the night.
Room is ok, nothing fancy but clean. The walls are not tick so you can hear some noise from the other rooms. The staff is super friendly and the location it's awesome only 3 minutes from Boccadasse. They have big parking and overall is what I was expecting.

SwitzerlandThe family that run it are absolutely lovely. They went out of their way to help us when we had an issue with our car. They are very special, every person we met had the same friendly, warm, and positive attitude. This is why I like small hotels. Plus the location - two minute walk from the amazing Boccadasse Beach, a little beach/bay that is a stunning part of Genoa. A true little gem.

PolandAdvertised that there is AC, but in reality it was working just like there is no AC. You cannot control it. As per hotel person AC is setup to 22-24 degrees. But it was unable to cool 15 square meters room. It was HOT all the time. Hotel staff is bearly speaking english, especially at the evenings and nights. You need to hard slam bathroom door to close it.
Quite good location, close to Genova Sturla train station. If you are lucky you will get covered parking space. Nice beach nearby. Fridge in the room.

AustriaThe walls between rooms are thin and one can hear the television of the neighbour. The bed was a bit soft and slightly worn.
We had the room with balcony and a spacious bathroom. Staff was friendly and spoke some english. The Hotel is a bit dated, but somehow has already a cool retro charme. Breakfast was okay with Coffee, Croissant, Toast, Cornflakes and Juice. Just one hears the noises of neighbours as walls are thin between rooms. just 5 or 10 Minutes to the small beach and 15 min walk to Sturla railway station. Room was clean.

United KingdomThe hotel could do with a bit of a tart up. I believe that they were having some work done at the time of my stay so things may change. The walls are paper thin so noise travels easily. The shower in my particular room had a lot to be desired.
Comfortable, friendly staff, restaurants and shops nearby and relatively clean. It is a bit of a walk to the centre. 30mins ish

SerbiaAlthough most of the room was clean, there were some uncleaned parts, such as drawers and a few corners. The WC was clean but there were black bits between the tiles. There were also some fluid stains on one of the walls. The whole hotel is a little outdated, looks like 80s hotel.
Staff were very friendly and kind, they come in every day to make the beds, replace used soaps and towels. It's not expensive and it's relatively close to the Boccadasse Beach. It's also close to a bus station which leads to the city center. It also has parking spots outside so it's not a problem if you're traveling via car.

United StatesThe furnishings were a little outdated (bathroom racks were rusty, the bidet was a bit wonky, the bed slid because it did not have grips on the legs, and the cabinet above the bed was a bit wobbly)There was no AC, just a fan (which sufficed).
Staff was nice. I was missing a person in my booking and they still accommodated us with a fair extra fee. It was pouring when we checked out and they helped us book a reasonably priced taxi. They offered us coffee/breakfast while we waited even though the breakfast bar was already closed. Had a mini fridge in the room. Close to quite a few restaurants frequented by locals and a bus stop that goes directly to the train station.
