How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was no issue with the rooms at all or the service. It was a little way out of town but as we had a car it was only a few minutes drive to the centre.
We loved that we had great conversation with Mauro over an extremely generous breakfast. As one of us could speak Italian we got a lot of extra information about the local area and some of the history as well. He also was able to give us recommendations for local restaurants and made the booking for us as well as recommended a place in town to try and buy some of the best local hazelnut products. We were even advised which parking area to go to so we would not have to pay.

This by far has been the best B&B that we have encountered in our month-long trip to Italy. Everything is just perfect. - The rooms are spacious, very clean and have all the amenities (AC included), even a washing machine. - The owners are exceptionally kind and helpful in a very pleasant way - The breakfast is very good with good coffee - The location is perfect, situated right next to a UNESCO World Heritage site and several lovely villages. - Icing on the cake is most definitely the new swimming pool, with very comfortable sunbeds that sustain direct sun almost the entire day. All this for a very reasonable pricing as well. We've had to extend our stay several times. You just don't want to leave. Thanks!

Would have been nice with a larger smart tv, and a bit better pillows.
Property was located right next to my training center, which is why I stayed there. I had a nice terrace with chairs and table, and the bed was comfortable. Nice, comfortable shower and bathroom. Breakfast was superb, and the hosts as well.

Nowhere to sit inside and enjoy a relaxing glass of wine after a day of touring around. You need to pay cash and not credit card.
Great breakfast. Very clean. Lovely couple who own and run it.

Owners were extremely nice people, very jelpful and like to share their love and pride for alba. Parking is good and free. Room very clean and comfy. Place 2 km from center, but very easy to get there with a car. We recommend the place and owners. Mauro and Mary. Breakfast was very good

Everything was perfect.
Owners are super polite and respectful. They made me feel at home. Good private parking space. Breakfast was the best I've had in Italy, with egg, bread, ham, delicious cheeses, cakes, juices, great cafes. They served on the garden and it's so beautiful out there. Room was VERY VERY clean and comfy beds, sheets and pillows. I wish I could stay more days, I'll be back for sure!

The plate of hams for breakfast is fantastic. The owner's hospitality was so lovely that we were introduced with valuable information about where to visit, which restaurant to have meals, and even butcher's shop to buy excellent ham!

Beautiful house in a beautiful area and neighborhood. Comfy bed, big bathroom, nice balcony. The owners are very nice and talkative. They don't speak English, but they use google translate with voice input and we had a nice chat. They recommended some great places to visit.

good room, really friendy couple with much information on the area. excellent breakfast with good coffee and homemade cake. parking on the site with a gate, so really safe. 30min walking from Alba. Mary doesn’t speak good English but has a translator, so everything was clear. Good vibes!

Its was quite noisy. We had a room on the ground floor next to the entrance. The fridge made annoying sounds in the evening but that was solved by unplugging the power cable :)
The hosts were really nice, the breakfast was nice. The room was EXTREMELY clean, which was highly appreciated.
