Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Bosnia and HerzegovinaWe were family, two adults and two daughters (3.5 and 7 years). When booking we couldn't reserve single room for all of us, so we booked by excluding younger daughter. This became huge problem to manager and he charged us extra 30 EUR per night withouth even providing extra bed, extra towels or any room upgrade. It was just price for oxygen so we will not be coming back to this place.
Great beachfront location. Clerk at reception was extra polite but manager wasn't. You can rent a bike in front of hotel. Drinks and food are priced normally at hotel and nearby restaurants and caffe bars.

LatviaBottle openers and the usual kettle were missing in the room. The glasses were made of plastic.
The location is the best. We arrived 3 hours early and were given a room at no extra charge. There are a lot of elevators, which keeps the waiting time to a minimum. The dinner offered at the hotel is very rich. Bikes are available in large quantities and in excellent working order. Coffee machines in sufficient quantity for breakfast, there were no queues at any time. Beach space is free, only a deposit is required. A comfortable bar by the beach itself, at very reasonable prices (cheaper than in the city).

United KingdomBar service really bad walked out 3 times as they ignored us for so long and it wasn’t a one off. Pool area needs some attention I.e handrails completely loose. Beds round the pool were extra!! Bike rules changed daily one day had to be back by 11 despite passing others guests going out on them at 11? Next day we were told could only have for an hour free and last day they asked us for a deposit. The bikes were in an awful state no air in tyres etc.
Beach and location and breakfast and the fact we had our loungers and umbrella for the whole week.

SerbiaIn general, I have always wondered that hotels or restaurants, in distinct tourist locations, such as Lido di Jesolo, have staff who do not know English. In this hotel, more of them do not speak English than they do. For 2 things we have really remark. One of the waiters, at breakfast, who spoke only in Italian and who was extremely uncomfortable. And arrogant. He reached the very edge of our reaction. I'm sure, if he another morning made breakfast as an unpleasant experience, he would made me to react. Other thing is low level of light in bathroom. There was some twinkled led light above the mirror, led light in different colors in the shower (:-)) and only good one above the toilet :-) Everything else in hotel is good for a 3 * hotel but bad or barely passable for a 4 * hotel. Given this, the hotel is expensive for this time of year.
At the beginning, on booking, this hotel is marked with 4 *. All signs on the hotel are 3 *. The reality is somewhere in between. The condition of the hotel is 3 * and probably because of the content it is like 4 *. The room is ok. Big enough. Towels are changed every day. Room was also cleaned every day. Breakfast is good, with a large enough selection of food. The location of the hotel is excellent, first line to the sea. For a hotel on the sea of this size, an indoor pool is a real rarity, but that's why we chose it. The hotel owner was the kindest of all the staff we met. He is trying to help with the parking of the vehicle that is really in demand here. Hotel guests' cars are parked in 3 rows between trees and poles. Practically, only the first row of vehicles can be expelled immediately and everything else requires moving other vehicles. But it's Lido. Finally, on check out, we got small present for our daughter. Thanks :-)

SwitzerlandFirst of all, very cold rooms, very uncomfortable beds, hot water waited for half an hour. Parking is very complicated. You have to leave the key and at any moment someone moves your car away from the hotel staff. Definitely too expensive a hotel for what it has to offer.
The staff is very professional. They let us check in a few hours early. The breakfast was good and the pool was very suitable for young children.
